During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) conveyed his sincere gratitude through Dr. Andrew Hardy to the French School of Far Eastern Studies (EFEO) for its contributions to the development of the University. The Rector hoped that EFEO would continue to facilitate and support the research, training, and academic development activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Dr. Andrew Hardy stated that in the near future, EFEO will support the University in activities such as introducing the trilingual epic poem Luc Van Tien, organizing exchanges and discussions on academic fields between France and Vietnam such as literature, history, etc. It is expected that on March 20th, EFEO will cooperate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to organize a seminar on medieval European literature and modern-contemporary Vietnamese literature, coinciding with the visit of the Permanent Secretary of the Academy of Inscriptions and Fine Arts (Paris), Michel Jink, to Vietnam.

On December 5-6, 2014, the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with EFEO, organized the workshop “EFEO and Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam”. The workshop highlighted the role of EFEO in the development of Vietnam's social sciences and humanities throughout history, particularly since the re-establishment of its representative office in Hanoi in 1993. The workshop also contributed to strengthening future cooperation between the University and EFEO.
