Psychology and child development

On April 7, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Francophone University Agency (AUF), the French Institute for Development Research (IRD), and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences jointly organized the workshop "Psychological studies: family environment, educational environment and child development".Attending the workshop were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Principal of the school) and representatives of the organizing units, and many researchers, university lecturers, and postgraduates from Vietnam and other countries in the region. The workshop focused on the research content on the educational environment for children's development from a psychological perspective through presentations such as: Approaches in psychological research in Vietnam, Family conflicts in suburban areas in the process of urbanization, Research on psychological disorders in children in violent families, Current contributions of psychology to the development of children's abilities, Summary of psychological research in Vietnam and current research directions... This scientific exchange session helps postgraduates have the opportunity to introduce their research work to colleagues, receive comments and criticism to further improve their research work. This is also an opportunity for researchers to discuss theoretical and practical issues in the field of social sciences, with an emphasis on methodologies. The workshop is the 9th session of the “Social Science Researcher Day” program, which began in November 2008. This is a regional program, aiming at the goal of building an international doctoral training school with the participation of one or more universities in the Francophone bloc and Vietnam.
