From 8:00 AM on August 14th, a large number of parents and students were present on campus, carrying their enrollment documents and paperwork. The welcoming ceremony for new students was attended by Professor Pham Quang Minh – Rector of the university; and Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan – Vice Rector. On behalf of the university leadership, the two professors personally welcomed and greeted the new students. They expressed their joy and thanked the parents and students for their trust in the university, for deciding to entrust their four years of university life to this prestigious institution of the Humanities.

Professor Pham Quang Minh – the school's Rector – presented commemorative gifts to the lucky new students.

As in previous years, to avoid traffic congestion and overloading departments, the University has also divided and scheduled different times for each faculty to handle the enrollment procedures for new students. To effectively implement the new student reception program, the University has sent official documents to all departments outlining necessary tasks. Accordingly, the Department of Politics and Student Affairs has a crucial role in developing the overall plan, acting as the direct "liaison" with relevant units to implement the student reception activities for the QH-2017-X cohort. The Department will directly handle matters related to policies and regulations upon student enrollment, and will assign a group of student ambassadors to assist students with the enrollment process at the appropriate locations. In addition, the Department has also planned specific work instructions for other units such as the Youth Volunteer Team and the University Youth Union to provide support to students and parents on enrollment day. The school has provided sunshades and tables and chairs, and offers plenty of drinking water so that parents and students can sit and rest while waiting to complete the enrollment procedures.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Lieu – Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department – shared that this year's plan is basically the same as in previous years. However, this year, the process of receiving students and issuing admission letters has been organized into three departments by the Training Department, making the enrollment procedures faster and more efficient than in previous years.

The Youth Union and Student Association also enthusiastically participated in welcoming parents and new students. The Executive Committee of the Youth Union and Student Association designed and printed posters to distribute to students on enrollment day, clearly outlining the schedule of activities that the Union and Association will take place this semester. In particular, this year, the Student Association conducted a small survey to gather the thoughts and aspirations of new students regarding skills they wish to further develop and activities they want to participate in. The Student Association promises to be an organization that always listens to and supports students in their studies and training, contributing to the development of the university and creating conditions for the full and comprehensive development of students. These are truly significant advantages, giving new students a more comprehensive view of a humanities university that, while ancient and traditional, is also dynamic, creative, confident, and integrated.

Sharing his feelings on his first day of school, Do Minh Chien, a K62 Psychology student, said: “Initially, I was a little surprised and bewildered because I'm a new student and had never been here before. I found the exterior of the school to be quite old-fashioned, but the facilities inside are very modern. The teachers and senior students welcomed us very politely and friendly, truly befitting a humanities university. Thanks to that, I quickly regained my confidence and made some new friends.”

Thai Nguyen Bich Ngoc, a student from the K62 Public Relations program, expressed her happiness at being at the university she has loved and dreamed of attending since high school: “I have loved the Faculty of Humanities since high school. Today I feel truly happy to be here. This is truly a great school where I can study and develop myself for the next four years.”

Present at the freshman orientation day, Mr. Vu Trong Dai – the parent of a student in the K62 Journalism program – said he felt extremely pleased with the warm welcome from the school's leadership, teachers, and students. According to him, the close attention from the school during this orientation ceremony will give the new students more confidence in their choice, thereby providing them with more motivation to study, research, and develop themselves throughout their four years of study here.

New students must complete all procedures within the first 15 days of enrollment.

It is known that immediately after the matriculation ceremony, from August 17-20, new students of the QH-2017-X cohort will attend a student orientation week instead of the previous student citizenship week. At the same time, they will also undergo health checkups and complete other student registration procedures. On September 5th, they will begin their regular classes according to the university's schedule.
