2. Objective train
The undergraduate training program in Journalism trains bachelors with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to work in the field of journalism and communication; capable of performing work requirements on various types of journalism and communication in the digital age, in the context of international integration and globalization; capable of researching and teaching on journalism and communication issues at universities, research institutions, etc.;
After the course, students have the capacity to work at press agencies, media agencies, political and social organizations, etc., and are able to continue studying, participate in higher education, and accumulate experience to become leaders and experts in the field of journalism and communication.

PART II: OUTPUT STANDARDS OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1.Vabout knowledgeand professional competence
1.1. About knowledge
Graduates of the training program have in-depth theoretical knowledge in the training field; master the techniques and have practical knowledge to be able to solve complex tasks; accumulate basic knowledge of basic principles, natural and social laws in the training field to develop new knowledge and be able to continue studying at a higher level; have knowledge of management, operation, law and environmental protection related to the training field; and have specific knowledge and professional capacity as follows:
1.1.1.KGeneral knowledge:
- Understand and apply the knowledge and methodology of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought, have a dialectical materialist worldview and outlook on life, have political awareness and a firm class stance;
- Ability to use basic foreign languages with listening, speaking, reading and writing skills equivalent to at least level 3 according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam.
1.1.2.Krepent knowledgeaccording tofield
- Understand and demonstrate awareness of the foundations of social sciences and humanities, especially in the fields of political science, psychology, sociology, history and economics;
- Understand the role of social sciences and humanities in social life, especially in the digital age, integration and globalization.
1.1.3. Industry and industry group knowledge
- Understand and be able to apply theories and principles of communication arts, interpersonal communication and mass media communication to communicate effectively in writing, speech and other forms;
- Understand the basic and core issues of Law and Ethics of journalism and media in professional activities;
- Understand and analyze the role and strengths of mass media channels in society. Understand different career fields and jobs in the media industry;
- Understand the operating model of press and media agencies and the roles and tasks of individuals in organizing those activities;
- Demonstrate understanding of basic concepts and theories of mass communication (the role of the press in social life, basic functions of the media, principles of journalistic ethics...) to become a professional communicator and journalist.
1.1.4.Kindustry knowledge
- Demonstrate awareness, understanding and ability to exercise the rights and responsibilities of journalists in society. Understand and be aware of the social, legal and ethical responsibilities of journalists - socio-political activists;
- Understand the requirements for accuracy, fairness and honesty in communication activities and apply these requirements in the process of journalism;
Ability to perceive and apply the difference between reality and opinion;
- Understand the roles and relationships between individuals in the media production process;
- Demonstrate the ability to think critically, creatively and independently when evaluating and assessing news; the ability to organize and present information in the form of articles in different types of journalism (print, radio, television, public relations, etc.);
- Master basic knowledge of elements and principles in designing and presenting printed newspapers, websites, or building radio and television programs.
- Through the internship and graduation thesis, clearly understand the organizational model and operating procedures of a press office or media agency; Be able to skillfully apply the knowledge and skills learned into professional practice under the guidance of journalists and media experts; Be initially able to adapt to the high-pressure working environment of a press office; Flexibly apply basic communication skills with sources, colleagues, and editorial boards; Be initially able to coordinate work with groups/crews producing press programs/works.
1.2. Self-control and responsibility
- Have the ability to lead in the specialized and professional fields that have been trained; have initiatives in the process of performing assigned tasks; have the ability to self-orient and adapt to different working environments; self-study, accumulate knowledge and experience to improve professional qualifications; have the ability to draw conclusions on common specialized and professional issues and some complex technical issues; have the ability to plan, coordinate, promote collective intelligence; have the ability to evaluate and improve professional activities on a medium scale.

2.1.1.Journalism skills
Have the skills to complete complex tasks requiring the application of theoretical and practical knowledge of the trained field in different contexts; have the skills to analyze, synthesize, evaluate data and information, synthesize collective opinions and use new achievements in science and technology to solve practical or abstract problems in the trained field; have the ability to lead expertise to handle local and regional scale problems;
- Have basic skills in using technical means and new technologies in mass communication activities, demonstrating the ability to adapt in a multimedia and digital professional working environment;
- Have the skills to proficiently use video cameras, cameras, recorders..., use information processing software at a basic level.
- Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze information by methods such as interviewing, observing, collecting original documents or secondary documents proficiently. Have basic ability in independent investigation and information search, organize independent interviews to collect, analyze, organize, and synthesize information (written, images, data) for a certain topic.
- Have proficient skills in processing and organizing information in the form of journalistic genres, serving writing, posting, and broadcasting on mass media (print, radio, television, and online newspapers).
- Have proficient editing skills for your own work and that of others according to different types of journalism and genres of work.
- Have basic skills in designing and presenting media publications, or building radio and television programs;
- Ability to work flexibly in various types of journalism and work in various genres of journalism;
- Initially know how to evaluate career performance using qualitative and quantitative methods.

- Ability to detect, perceive, debate, express opinions on ongoing issues and propose and implement activities to solve problems related to expertise;

- Ability to research and propose recommendations to improve the quality of press and media activities;
- Update and predict industry development trends and the ability to master technological equipment in the digital age;
- Ability to prepare to continue self-training, or participate in advanced postgraduate training courses, or related industry training courses in the field of journalism and media.

- Awareness of the organizational context and adaptation to work requirements in different organizational models (newspaper offices, media companies, communications departments of government agencies, non-governmental agencies, businesses, schools, etc.);

4. Job positions that students can take after graduation:
Journalism graduates are capable of performing the duties of reporters and editors at newspapers, magazines, news agencies, radio stations, television stations, working as researchers and lecturers at training and scientific research institutions on journalism and mass communication, working as functional staff in agencies leading and managing press information or performing duties that require systematic and basic understanding of journalism theory and professional skills, working as specialists at media companies, working as media staff, public relations (PR)... Journalism graduates also have the ability to adapt widely to be able to perform duties at agencies and units related to journalism and mass communication such as cultural and ideological agencies, social advocacy agencies and organizations, general information departments of agencies, units, political and social organizations, companies, groups, corporations, economic and commercial enterprises. trade, services, domestic and foreign non-governmental organizations...
5. Ability to learn and improve after graduation
Bachelors of Journalism can participate in master's degree programs in Journalism, Public Relations, and other related majors and suitable majors in the system of majors currently allowed to be trained by the Ministry of Education and Training. In some exceptional cases, they can continue to study for a doctorate if they meet the requirements according to the training regulations.
