2. Objectives train
The undergraduate journalism program trains graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to work in the field of journalism and media; capable of fulfilling operational requirements in various forms of media in the digital age, in the context of international integration and globalization; capable of researching and teaching on issues of journalism and media at higher education institutions and research facilities...
After completing the course, students will have the competence to work in press agencies, media organizations, political and social organizations, etc., and will be able to continue their studies at a higher level, accumulating experience to become leaders and experts in the field of journalism and media.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1.Vknowledgeand professional competence
1.1. Regarding knowledge
Graduates of this training program possess in-depth theoretical knowledge in their field of study; master technical skills and have practical knowledge to solve complex tasks; accumulate foundational knowledge of basic principles, natural and social laws in their field of study to develop new knowledge and be able to continue studying at a higher level; have management, operational, legal and environmental protection knowledge related to their field of study; and possess specific knowledge and professional competence as follows:
1.1.1.KGeneral knowledge review:
- To understand and apply the knowledge and methodology of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought; to possess a dialectical materialist worldview and philosophy of life; and to have firm political awareness and class standpoint.
- Possess basic foreign language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, equivalent to at least level 3 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam.
1.1.2.Kknowledgeaccording tofield
- Understand and demonstrate one's understanding of the foundations of social sciences and humanities, especially in the fields of political science, psychology, sociology, history, and economics;
- Understanding the role of social sciences and humanities in social life, especially in the digital age, integration, and globalization.
1.1.3. Knowledge of subject areas and subject groups
- Understand and be able to apply the theories and principles of communication, interpersonal communication, and mass media communication to communicate effectively through writing, speech, and other forms;
- To understand the fundamental and core issues of law and ethics in journalism and media work;
- Understand and analyze the role and strengths of mass media channels in society. Understand the different professional fields and jobs within the media industry;
- To understand the operational model of media organizations and the roles and responsibilities of individuals within those organizations;
- Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental concepts and theories of mass communication (the role of media in social life, basic functions of communication, principles of journalistic ethics, etc.) in order to become a professional communicator and journalist.
1.1.4.Kindustry knowledge
- Demonstrate awareness, understanding, and the ability to exercise the rights and responsibilities of journalists in society. Understand and recognize the social, legal, and ethical responsibilities of journalists – socio-political activists;
- Understand the requirements for accuracy, fairness, and integrity in media activities and apply these requirements in journalistic work;
Possesses the ability to recognize and apply the distinction between reality and subjective opinions;
- Understand the roles and relationships between individuals in the media production process;
- Demonstrates critical thinking, creativity, and independence in evaluating and assessing news; ability to organize and present information in the form of articles across various media formats (print, radio, television, public relations, etc.);
- Master the fundamental knowledge of the elements and principles in designing print media, websites, or building complete radio and television programs.
- Through internships and graduation theses, gain a thorough understanding of the organizational model and operational processes of a newspaper newsroom or media agency; be able to proficiently apply learned knowledge and skills to professional practice under the guidance of journalists and media experts; begin to adapt to the high-pressure work environment of a newspaper newsroom; flexibly apply basic communication skills with sources, colleagues, and the editorial board; begin to collaborate with teams/production crews for journalistic programs/works.
1.2. Autonomy and Responsibility
- Possesses leadership skills based on professional training; demonstrates initiative in carrying out assigned tasks; is capable of self-direction and adapting to different work environments; independently learns and accumulates knowledge and experience to improve professional skills; is able to draw conclusions on common professional issues and some technically complex problems; has the ability to plan, coordinate, and leverage collective intelligence; and is capable of evaluating and improving professional activities on a medium scale.

Possesses the skills to complete complex tasks requiring the application of theoretical and practical knowledge of their field of study in diverse contexts; possesses the skills to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate data and information, synthesize collective opinions, and utilize new scientific and technological achievements to solve practical or abstract problems in their field of study; has the capacity to provide professional leadership in handling issues at the local and regional levels.
- Possesses basic skills in using new technical and technological tools in mass media communication, demonstrating adaptability in a multimedia and digital professional environment;
- Possesses proficient skills in using video cameras, still cameras, audio recorders, etc., and basic information processing software.
- Capable of collecting, evaluating, and analyzing information through methods such as interviews, observation, and gathering original or secondary documents proficiently. Possesses basic competence in independent information gathering and investigation, organizing independent interviews to collect, analyze, organize, and synthesize information (written, visual, numerical) to serve a particular topic.
- Possesses proficient skills in processing and organizing information in various journalistic formats, for writing, publishing, and broadcasting on mass media (print newspapers, radio, television, and online news).
- Possesses proficient editing skills for both one's own work and that of others, across various journalistic formats and genres.
- Possess basic skills in designing and presenting media publications, or in creating radio and television programs;
- Capable of working flexibly in various types of journalism, and in different journalistic genres;

- Awareness of the organizational context and adaptation to job requirements in different organizational models (newspaper editorial offices, media companies, communications departments of government agencies, non-governmental organizations, businesses, schools, etc.);

4. Job positions that students can take on after graduation.:
Journalism graduates are capable of working as reporters and editors at newspapers, magazines, news agencies, radio stations, and television stations; as researchers and lecturers at training and research institutions specializing in journalism and mass media; as functional officers in leadership and management agencies for press information; or in positions requiring a systematic and fundamental understanding of journalistic theory and professional skills. They can work as specialists in media companies, as communications staff, or in public relations (PR) roles. Journalism graduates also have a wide range of adaptability, enabling them to work in various organizations related to journalism and mass media, such as cultural and ideological agencies, social advocacy media organizations, general information departments of political and social organizations, companies, corporations, and economic and commercial enterprises. cases, domestic and foreign non-governmental organizations...
5. Opportunities for further learning and professional development after graduation.
Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism can pursue Master's degree programs in Journalism, Public Relations, and other related or suitable fields within the system of disciplines currently permitted for training by the Ministry of Education and Training. In some exceptionally outstanding cases, they may be eligible to continue their studies at the doctoral level if they meet the requirements of the training regulations.
