Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ba Thanh (Faculty of Literature) received his pension book.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ba Thanh was born on June 18, 1951 in Ha Tinh, and was the former Head of the Faculty of Literature for the 1996-2000 term. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ba Thanh was a student of the 14th class of the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi National University (1969). From 1972 to 1976, along with many cadres and students of Hanoi National University in the movement of "putting down the pen to fight against the US", student Nguyen Ba Thanh at that time became a soldier of the Air Defense - Air Force Command. After the country was unified, after returning to the School to study and being retained as a lecturer, he has been attached to the Faculty and the School for 44 years of work, and is a senior lecturer in Modern Vietnamese Literature. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ba Thanh once held the position of Director of the Hanoi National University Publishing House (2006-2009).

On behalf of the School Board, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh presented the retirement book to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ba Thanh. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh congratulated Mr. Nguyen Ba Thanh on completing his working period to retire according to the State's regime. The School Principal shared his deep impressions of Associate Professor Nguyen Ba Thanh's dedication and concerns during his tenure as Head of the Faculty of Literature. The generation of teachers has become an important link in the development of the Faculty and the School, a source of pride and spiritual support for future generations of lecturers and young students. The School hopes that the teachers will continue to participate in consulting and contributing to professional work as well as the activities of the School's Alumni Association.

Leaders and lecturers of the Faculty of Literature of many generations shared many memories and good feelings about Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ba Thanh and expressed gratitude for his contributions during more than 40 years of working at the Faculty. He is a shining example for generations of young lecturers of the Faculty in terms of integrity, will to overcome difficulties and always care about nurturing and guiding the younger generation. Having gone through the fire of war, he continued to teach in Cambodia in 1986. After that, as the Head of the Faculty, he made an important mark in the development of the Faculty and the School during the difficult and challenging transition period; pondered and pioneered in promoting a number of new fields of study such as Korean Studies... Some typical works of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ba Thanh include: Panorama of Vietnamese Poetry, Vietnamese Culture in Relations with World Culture, Poetry Journey... Although retired, he is still participating in many professional works with the Faculty.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ba Thanh was moved during the meeting and receiving his pension book. He shared that exactly 48 years ago, this day was the day he boarded the train to Hanoi to enroll at Hanoi National University. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ba Thanh thanked the confidences, precious feelings and good acknowledgements that the School and the Faculty of Literature shared with him during this meeting. For him, the tasks have been completed, many wishes have been fulfilled, and he is in a light and comfortable mood. With complete joy with his family, he will always be ready to participate in the activities of the Faculty and the School.
