7.1. Political and ideological work
The Department of Politics and Student Affairs always considers political and ideological work an important task. Therefore, the department's staff has proactively and actively participated in disseminating resolutions of Party committees at all levels. The staff has a firm ideological stance and promptly applies the Party's guidelines and the State's policies to the management and service of students.
Political and ideological education work has been effectively implemented, with many specific activities, attracting a large number of students to participate such as:
- Fully implement political activities for staff and students of the whole school, especially "Citizen and student activities week"beginning of school year; continue to carry out the campaign"Study and follow Ho Chi Minh's moral example", other student movements in many rich, practical and lively forms.
- Implement democratic regulations through dialogue between school leaders and students of all courses..
- Coordinate the organization of many volunteer and charity activities; organize practically and effectively activities to celebrate major holidays: the founding day of the Communist Party of Vietnam, National Day, President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the liberation day of the South, the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army; organize a contest to learn about Ho Chi Minh's ideology and other contests.
- Coordinated the organization of Party awareness training classes for thousands of outstanding union members, cadres and students; recruited hundreds of new party members.
The creative point in political and ideological work is to regularly innovate educational methods through forms such as organizing visits to historical sites; exchanges between students and veterans and historical witnesses; exhibitions of photos and documents about President Ho Chi Minh, the process of building and developing the Party and the Vietnam People's Army; exhibitions about the homeland's borders and islands...
Through the above activities, we have continuously contributed to educating love for the country, awareness of territorial sovereignty, territorial waters and national independence; love for historical traditions, national cultural traditions and pride in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
7.2. Student work
- Fully and promptly implement student affairs such as receiving and managing student records, graduating students. Implement social subsidies for policy students in accordance with state regulations. Consider providing hardship subsidies, scholarships to encourage learning, and non-budget scholarships for students to ensure fairness, objectivity and timeliness.
- In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the school's training quality and at the same time have a scientific basis for adjustment to increasingly improve training effectiveness to meet social needs, from 2010 - 2015, the Department of Politics and Student Affairs conducted a survey on the employment status of 100% of graduates. The Department organized a sociological survey to select samples of 1,559 students who graduated from 2008 to 2010, 1,073 students who graduated from 2011, 2012 and is currently organizing an online survey with 100% of students who graduated from 2013, 2014.
The results of the surveys on first-year students, final-year students and graduates have contributed significantly to helping the Board of Directors and leaders of units have specific and accurate information to make necessary additions and adjustments in training work towards the quality goal, meeting the social needs of the School. The survey results show that in the 5 years from 2010 to 2014, the rate of graduates finding jobs within 1 year after graduation reached over 90%.
- Career orientation, skills support: The Department continues to be the focal point for maintaining the relationship between the School and the Association of Business Administrators as a basis for the coordination process between the School and the employers, which are businesses. The coordination process is especially effective in supporting the training of the two units, the Faculty of Archival Science and Office Administration and the Faculty of Management Science. Drama competitions and short-term training courses organized in coordination with the Association of Business Administrators have brought useful knowledge and experience to students.
- With the desire to further improve the quality of input in the training process, the Department has proactively consulted with the Board of Directors to organize career counseling activities for students right before entering the school. In addition to regular enrollment counseling activities, since 2013 the Department has organized a modelStudent Ambassador, Volunteerare students studying at the school, after training sessions, theStudent Ambassadorwill directly consult and communicate career guidance at the high school where I studied.
- Job search support: The Department assigns a staff member to be the focal point for synthesizing information on human resource needs from employers and businesses. On average, each year, it receives recruitment information from 50-60 units, directly coordinating recruitment interviews at the school with 5-7 units. In order to increase the effectiveness of this activity, since 2013, the Department has built an information page that regularly updates job information and receives feedback from alumni.
- The new point in student affairs is that it has proactively mobilized scholarship resources from organizations, funds, businesses and philanthropists to reward students with excellent academic results, and students with difficult circumstances who have strived to study well. Up to now, there have been nearly 20 funds signed by partners with the school, in which the Chung-Soo Korea Fund has awarded nearly 4 billion VND to students for 8 consecutive years, the AEON Japan Fund has awarded nearly 500 million VND, the Seosan Korea Fund awarded nearly 200 million VND to students for the first time... The total amount of money mobilized in the past 20 years is nearly 20 billion VND.
- The number of students participating in international and regional forums; student exchange programs is more than 1,400. Especially, there are Asian student forums with the environment, ASEAN youth exchange, Vietnam - China Youth Festival...
- Over the past 20 years, 6,000 students have been awarded for their academic achievements, work achievements and efforts to overcome difficulties in their studies; nearly 2,000 students are outstanding young faces at the school level, including more than 300 outstanding young faces at VNU level.
- Well manage Laotian students, Chinese students and students from other countries according to the agreement. Relationships with outside organizations in student management are always maintained and operate effectively.
