On October 14, 2015, the opening ceremony of the external evaluation of Hanoi National University took place in room 203 of the Administration Building. This evaluation was organized by the Center for Quality Assurance in Education in collaboration with the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to assess the Faculty's training program according to AUN standards – the standards of the ASEAN University Network.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim chaired the meeting.

Following the opening ceremony, representatives from the four AUN evaluation teams held a working session with the leadership of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and all the leaders, heads of departments, staff, and lecturers of the Faculty of Oriental Studies in room 506, building E. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector of the University) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University) chaired the meeting. On behalf of the leadership of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Dr. Nguyen Tran Tien gave a general overview of the Faculty and its training programs. Afterwards, the council proceeded to the interview session to answer questions from the evaluation teams regarding the Faculty of Oriental Studies' training programs.

The external evaluation will conclude on October 16th in room 203, Administration Building, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
