"Harmonizing with the Vietnamese Wind" is the first feature film collaboration between Japanese and Vietnamese cinema, produced by Argo Film Company and Dong Do Cultural and Artistic Introduction Joint Stock Company. Based on the novel "Grandma from Echigo, Japan, Comes to Live in Vietnam" by Miyuki Komatsu, a Japanese writer and teacher currently living in Hanoi, the film highlights the cultural and human similarities between Vietnam and Japan, while also demonstrating the cooperation and relationship between the two countries. The film addresses many issues: war, family, elderly care, etc., in a lighthearted, bright, and humane way. Furthermore, the performances of the Japanese cast, especially the lighthearted and humorous acting of actresses Matsuzaka Keiko (as Misao) and Kuramura Reiko (as Shizue), have left a lasting impression on the audience.
The film revolves around the life of Misao, a Japanese teacher living in Vietnam. After her father's death, Misao decides to bring her mother, Shizue, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, to Vietnam to care for her. In their new country, Misao and her mother find warmth in the company of their kind Vietnamese neighbors and colleagues. These people help them overcome seemingly insurmountable difficulties. Here, Shizue meets other mothers; despite the language barrier, they somehow understand each other as if they had known each other in a previous life.

Actress Matsuzaka Keiko shared her thoughts with students from the Department of Oriental Studies.
During the Q&A session with the students, actress Matsuzaka Keiko shared: “Vietnam is a very peaceful country. While working here, I feel a sense of belonging, like family. I hope that the friendship between Vietnam and Japan will continue to grow, just like the name Misao – sea breeze.” Matsuzaka Keiko also expressed her particular fondness for Vietnamese cuisine.
