"Hoa cung lan gio Viet" is the first feature film co-production between Japanese and Vietnamese cinema produced by Argo Film Company and Dong Do Culture and Arts Promotion Joint Stock Company based on the novel "Grandma from Echigo, Japan comes to live in Vietnam" by Miyuki Komatsu, a Japanese writer and teacher, currently living in Hanoi. The film marks the similarities in culture and people of the two countries Vietnam - Japan, and at the same time demonstrates the cooperation and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan. The film deals with many issues: war, family, elderly care... conveyed gently, brightly, and full of humanity. In addition, the acting of the Japanese cast, especially the light-hearted and humorous acting of actress Matsuzaka Keiko (as Misao) and Kuramura Reiko (as Shizue) also left an unforgettable impression on the audience.
The film revolves around the life of Misao - a Japanese teacher living in Vietnam. After her father passed away, Misao decided to bring her mother (Mrs. Shizue) who had Alzheimer's disease to Vietnam to take care of her. In the new country, Misao and her mother felt very warm when being with the neighbors and kind Vietnamese colleagues. It was these people who helped them overcome difficulties that seemed insurmountable. Here, Mrs. Shizue met other mothers, although they did not speak the same language, somehow they understood each other as if they had met in a previous life.
Actress Matsuzaka Keiko shares with students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies
During the exchange with students, actress Matsuzaka Keiko shared: “Vietnam is a very peaceful country. When working here, I feel the affection of relatives and family. I hope that the friendship between Vietnam and Japan will develop further, like the name Misao – sea breeze”. Ms. Matsuzaka Keiko also expressed her special love for Vietnamese cuisine.
