6.1. Expanding international cooperation with regional and global partners:

Over the past 20 years, the University has expanded its international relations by establishing official relations with many universities in the region and around the world. The University has signed cooperation documents on research and training with more than hundreds of universities and organizations, research institutes in all continents of Asia, Europe, America, Africa and Australia. Currently, the total number of international cooperation documents of the University is 232. Notably, among them are partner universities ranked highly in the region and the world such as Tokyo University (Japan); Thamasat University, Mahidol (Thailand); Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Inha University, Yonsei University (Korea); Princeton University, San Jose State University, University of Utah (USA), Greiswald University (Germany), University of Paris 7, University of Toulouse II (France), University of Glasgow (UK), Moscow State University (Russia), National University, Nayang University (Singapore), National Taiwan University; Renmin University, Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University (China); National University, University of New South Wales (Australia), Victoria University - Wellington (New Zealand), National University of Kiev (Ukraine)... etc.

6.2. International links and training:

Over the years, the School has continuously expanded the quantity and improved the quality of international joint training programs from undergraduate to postgraduate levels and short-term training programs. The School has developed and implemented Vietnamese language and Vietnamese studies training programs with universities in the US, Korea, China and Japan in the form of certificates (courses from 3 months, 6 months to 1 year) and university degrees (according to the 3+1 method). The number of foreign students studying the above programs in recent years is in the thousands.

For bachelor's degree programs with partner degrees, the School is collaborating with universities in Korea and China to train in the fields of Journalism, Chinese, Tourism Management, Public Administration Management, and Korean Studies. Up to now, the School has recruited 4 courses with a total of 130 students, of which 1 course graduated in 2013 and 3 courses are currently studying (2 courses at Guangxi University and 1 course at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities).

With the strategic goal of creating an international environment and building international standard postgraduate programs, the School has developed and implemented training programs through the opening of joint master's training programs such as the Master's program in Public Policy and Business Management (first is the Master's program in Organizational Management), Master's program in Child and Adolescent Development Psychology, Master's program in Tourism Management awarded by Toulouse 2 University, France and the Master's program in Science and Technology Management awarded by Lund University, Sweden within the framework of Project 165 of the Government. The form of joint postgraduate training has created opportunities for the School's lecturers to access advanced foreign teaching content and methods. The total number of students in these programs to date is nearly 1,000 students.

6.3. Exchange of scholars and students:

To contribute to improving the quality of training and creating conditions for the school's staff and students to grasp updated information, the school has invited hundreds of foreign experts to teach and research over the past 20 years.

The school has also sought and exploited scholarships from foreign partners with extensive experience in training human resources, helping many staff and lecturers have the opportunity to study and work abroad. Since 1995, thousands of staff have studied, taught, and exchanged and cooperated at advanced universities in the United States, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc.

The number of students going abroad to study and exchange is thousands of students. The total number of scholarships that foreign sponsors have awarded in Vietnam to the school's students in just 5 years (from 2010 to 2015) is more than 1 thousand scholarships awarded to students with a value of nearly 6 billion VND..

6.4.Organizing, implementing and executing international programs and projects:

Every year, the School carries out an average of 10 international cooperation programs and projects. These cooperation programs and projects are carried out in accordance with state regulations and signed agreements with partners, which are universities, international organizations and funds. Among them are large-budget international projects, implemented over a long period of time, such as: Japan Research Support Program (Zensho Corporation and the University of Tokyo sponsor); Project for development of sociology, international studies, anthropology (Ford Foundation funding);Research Project on Reforming Vietnam Education Policy (Rosa – Luxemburg Foundation, Federal Republic of Germany (sponsored); Project to Enhance the Capacity of Teaching European Studies in Vietnam (Jean Monnet Foundation, European Commission funding); Project on Building a PhD training program and improving capacity and teaching anthropology (sponsored by the Wenner Gren Foundation, USA)...

All international programs and projects have achieved good results such as: Successfully organizing international conferences with the participation of prestigious scholars from abroad, publishing high-quality articles of the conferences in the proceedings and domestic and international journals. The content of the programs and projects are effectively applied in research and teaching at the School...

6.5. Organizing reception of international delegations:

During the period 1995-2015, the University organized a thoughtful reception for thousands of international delegations visiting the University. In addition, many foreign leaders and heads of state visited and gave speeches at the University, such as: Governor General of Canada, Prime Minister of China, Prime Minister of East Timor, former Prime Minister of Korea... showing that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a highly prestigious training and scientific center.

6.6. Support and contribute to promoting the development of Vietnamese studies centers abroad:

In line with the orientation of promoting Vietnamese language and culture abroad, in recent years, the School has, together with its partners, opened 03 Vietnamese Research Centers abroad (Hong Ha Academy 2011, Guangxi Normal University 2012 (China); National Kaohsiung University 2012 (Taiwan).
