Announcement regarding the 3rd Conference on Vietnamese Studies

With the approval of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences will organize the Third International Conference on Vietnamese Studies with the theme “Vietnam: Integration and Development” from December 4 to 7, 2008 at the My Dinh National Convention Center, Hanoi.

The purpose of the Conference is to provide an opportunity for Vietnam studies scholars worldwide to present their research findings and engage in academic exchange with colleagues, thereby contributing to raising scientific awareness of issues related to Vietnam, especially in the process of integration and development. At the same time, the Conference also serves as an opportunity for Vietnam studies scholars from Vietnam and abroad to meet and discuss ways to strengthen research collaboration between scholars inside and outside Vietnam.

This is a large-scale international scientific conference (comprising 19 specialized subcommittees). The Organizing Committee hopes to receive a strong response from numerous Vietnam studies scholars from Vietnam and abroad.

- Registration and abstract submission period for the conference: February 20th to...May 30, 2008(durationold(April 30, 2008).
- The deadline for submitting full reports is from May 1st to August 15th, 2008.
- Official invitations to the Conference will be sent out from September 1st to 30th, 2008.

The conference fee is US$100 per participant. However, in cases where scholars are unable to contribute, after a formal request has been made,The Conference Organizing Committee will consider forms of exemption or reduction..
