This year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 08 examination locations, with 108 examination rooms. Of which, in Hanoi there are 05 examination locations with 93 examination rooms, in Hai Phong there is 01 examination location with 07 examination rooms, in Vinh there is 01 examination location with 07 examination rooms and in Quy Nhon there is 01 examination location with 01 examination room.

There were 3,861 applications for the university entrance exam in group C at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2014. Among the applications for the 20 training majors of the University, the majors with the largest number of candidates are: Journalism, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Psychology, Oriental Studies, and Public Relations.
Basic science fields with more applications than in 2013 are Anthropology (up 68.09%), Han Nom (up 38.71%), Political Science (up 9.86%), Philosophy (up 1.27%).
The training majors at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the list of direct admission for national excellent students include 09 majors (an increase of 02 majors compared to 2013): Journalism, Oriental Studies, Han Nom, History, Archival Studies, Linguistics, International Studies, Literature, Vietnamese Studies. Up to now, there have been 136 successful candidates, 125 candidates registered for direct admission.
Basic science majors have policies to support students in their studies: 07 majors: Political Science, Han Nom, History, Anthropology, Philosophy, Literature, and Vietnamese Studies.
The majors with high-quality training programs include 05 majors: Management Science, History, Psychology, Philosophy, Literature. The major with an international training program is Linguistics.
Admission of candidates from poor districts (Resolution 30A/2008/NQ-CP, December 27, 2008), there are 26 quotas for all majors. Admission method: In case candidates register more than the announced quota, the School will consider based on the average score of grade 12 in the subjects: Literature, History, Geography, Mathematics and take from the highest score down until the quota is full.
