The School's Trade Union visited and presented gifts to the Nursing Center for the Meritorious

On the occasion of the 67th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2014), the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, led by Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu, Vice Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Chairman of the Trade Union of the University, and the Trade Union members of the University organized a visit and presented gifts to wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and victims of Agent Orange at the Nursing Center for People with Meritorious Services in Thanh Hoa (Quang Tho Commune, Quang Xuong District, Thanh Hoa Province).

Comrade Luong The Tap, Party Secretary, Director of the Nursing Center, introduced the situation of the center.

Thanh Hoa Nursing Center for People with Meritorious Services is a unit under the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Thanh Hoa province. The center is responsible for managing, caring for, nurturing, treating, and nursing wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and victims of Agent Orange in the province. Up to now, the center is managing 185 subjects, including 80 wounded soldiers, 23 relatives who are mothers, uncles, and wives of martyrs without support, 59 people infected with Agent Orange and children and grandchildren suffering from the consequences of Agent Orange victims.

Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu, Vice Principal of the School, spoke at the meeting.

Here, the School's Trade Union kindly visited and encouraged the subjects, and at the same time commended the staff of the two centers for their efforts in caring for and nursing the subjects.

On this occasion, the School Union presented 5 million VND in cash and 200 gifts to comrades being cared for at the Nursing Center for Meritorious People.

The center also led a delegation of school officials to each room to visit and encourage the wounded soldiers, mothers, revolutionaries, and victims of Agent Orange at the center. Here are some photos recording these activities:

Encouragement and gifts for mothers and children suffering from the consequences of Agent Orange

Comrade Nguyen Thi Bich Nga (Trade Union of Vietnamese Studies and Language Faculty) talked and encouraged women, mothers and children affected by Agent Orange.

Sympathizing and sharing the pain of the comrades, mothers, grandmothers and children at the center, the school's staff mobilized and directly donated 9 million VND to the center, contributing to gratitude and helping the center improve the lives of the subjects.

At the end of the visit, the representative of the center's leadership expressed gratitude for the attention and support of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and promised to continue to unite, strive and make efforts to perform well its functions and tasks.
