On the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2014), the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, led by Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu, Vice Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Chairman of the University's Trade Union, along with union members, organized a visit and presented gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, and victims of Agent Orange at the Center for the Care of Meritorious People in Thanh Hoa (Quang Tho commune, Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa province).

Comrade Luong The Tap, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Rehabilitation Center, introduced the situation of the center.
The Thanh Hoa Center for the Care of War Invalids and Martyrs is a unit under the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Thanh Hoa province. The center's nhiệm vụ is to manage, care for, nurture, treat, and provide rehabilitation for war invalids, relatives of martyrs, people who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution, and victims of Agent Orange in the province. Currently, the center is managing 185 individuals, including 80 war invalids and martyrs, 23 relatives (mothers, uncles, and wives of martyrs) who are without support, and 59 people affected by Agent Orange and their children and grandchildren suffering from its effects.

Professor Vu Duc Nghieu, Vice Rector of the University, delivered a speech at the meeting.
Here, the School's Trade Union kindly visited and encouraged the beneficiaries, while also commending the staff of the two centers for their dedicated efforts in caring for and nursing the beneficiaries.
On this occasion, the School's Trade Union presented 5 million VND in cash and 200 gift packages to the comrades receiving care and rehabilitation at the Center for the Care of War Veterans.

The center also led a delegation of school staff to each room, visiting and encouraging the wounded soldiers, mothers, women who contributed to the revolution, and victims of Agent Orange at the center. The following are some images documenting these activities:

Comrade Nguyen Thi Bich Nga (Trade Union of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language) converses with and encourages the women, mothers, and children affected by Agent Orange.

Out of empathy and compassion for the suffering of the comrades, grandmothers, mothers, and children at the center, the school's staff mobilized and directly raised 9 million VND, which was donated to the center as a token of gratitude and to help improve the lives of its beneficiaries.

At the end of the visit, the center's leadership representatives expressed their gratitude for the attention and assistance from the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and pledged to continue to unite, strive, and make efforts to perform their functions and duties well.
