Implementing cooperation with Chulalongkorn University (Thailand)

On July 18, 2014, a delegation led by Professor Somchai Chanpongsang (Chairman of the Faculty Council, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand) visited and worked at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The delegation was received by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector) along with representatives from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Political and Student Affairs Office, the Planning and Finance Office, and the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Office.

During the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim briefly introduced the history of training and research at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, highlighting its status as a leading institution for social sciences and humanities education in Vietnam. The university has hosted numerous foreign professors for research and teaching. He proposed the implementation of cooperation between the University and Chulalongkorn University.

Professor.Somchai Chanpongsang highly appreciated the proposal and stated that Chulalongkorn University is also very keen to build cooperation with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, based on the understanding that education is one of the top priorities of the Vietnamese government.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged important information on topics such as the integration of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities into ASEAN, student support, admissions, administrative management, training programs, and popular fields of study. Questions from both sides were discussed frankly and openly to facilitate future cooperation.

The university has 18 faculties and several schools and institutes. Considered the best and most selective university in Thailand, it attracts the top students in the country.
