In the report summarizing the Trade Union's work in the 2013-2014 academic year and outlining key tasks for the 2014-2015 academic year, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Xuan Khang – Chairman of the University's Trade Union – affirmed: During the past academic year, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities successfully fulfilled its functions and duties as a grassroots trade union, making a significant contribution to the successful achievement of the University's academic year objectives. The Trade Union's activities closely followed major programs: protecting the legitimate rights and interests of teachers and employees, caring for their well-being, building harmonious labor relations, creating motivation to improve the quality of education and training; enhancing the professional ethics, expertise, and skills of union members; actively participating in emulation movements and social campaigns, effectively carrying out the political tasks of the sector; innovating the organization, strengthening inspection work, improving the quality of the workforce; and expanding external relations activities.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Chairman of the University's Trade Union, presented a summary of the trade union's activities for the 2013-2014 academic year and the key tasks and directions for the 2014-2015 academic year.
With the theme of Innovation - Discipline - Unity - Responsibility, the key tasks and directions for activities in the upcoming academic year 2014-2015, as outlined by the School's Trade Union, are:
- Continue to improve the quality of the staff. It is expected that 40 doctoral candidates will defend their dissertations, bringing the total number of staff with doctoral degrees to 220.
- To build a competitive working environment, effectively implement workplace culture regulations, strictly adhere to labor discipline, optimize the organization of teaching, learning, research, and the operation of the school's machinery from departments to faculties/offices/divisions, contributing to administrative reform according to ISO standards.
- Continue to strengthen efforts in disseminating legal information.
- Strengthen political and ideological education on patriotism and national sovereignty. Promote emulation activities to achieve outstanding results in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the school's founding and the 70th anniversary of its founding.

Professor Vu Duc Nghieu, Vice Rector of the University, delivered a speech at the conference.
On behalf of the Party Committee and the School's Board of Directors, Professor Vu Duc Nghieu, Vice Rector of the School, acknowledged and commended the achievements of the School's Trade Union. The Trade Union actively participates in carrying out many important tasks of the School, and has many activities to encourage and assist union members in improving their skills and participating effectively in their work. The Trade Union also cares for the lives of its members, fostering a spirit of solidarity and unity within the collective; and participates in many meaningful social activities such as caring for heroic mothers, helping children in difficult circumstances, visiting and encouraging wounded soldiers, and building the Humanitarian Fund... With these activities, the School's Trade Union has excellently fulfilled its nhiệm vụ, and is a worthy representative organization of the workers.
Regarding the direction of work for the 2014-2015 academic year, Professor Vu Duc Nghieu also emphasized three contexts that will directly impact the activities of the Trade Union in the coming academic year:
- The 2014-2015 academic year marks the end of one Principal's term and the beginning of a new Principal's term. The Trade Union, together with the Party Committee, the School Board, and all staff, needs to focus on determining appropriate tasks, plans, and development directions for the new phase.
- Maintain the school's regular activities according to the overall plan and tasks of the entire school as defined in the school's summary report.
- The upcoming school year will also be a special one with many commemorative activities for the school. Therefore, the role and responsibilities of the Trade Union in the coming school year are very important.
At the conference, the School's Trade Union also presented awards to collectives and individuals who achieved high results in trade union activities during the 2013-2014 academic year.
