This morning, June 13, 2008, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to present awards to the children of the university's staff and faculty who achieved good academic results and demonstrated excellent moral character during the past school year.
This is an annual activity of the University's Trade Union during the summer. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Ba Nam (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University) was present at the ceremony to encourage and share the joy with the children and their families.
In the 2007-2008 school year, 116 children of school staff achieved the title of excellent student at various levels. Among them, 4 children were both all-around excellent students and winners of the City-level excellent student award; 1 child was an excellent student at the school level and won 2 awards at the district level; and 1 child was an excellent student at the school level and received an honorable mention in Mathematics at the district level. On behalf of the school leadership and the school's trade union, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Ba Nam - Vice Principal, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the school's trade union, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Hung - Standing Committee Member of the school's trade union, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa - Standing Committee Member of the school's trade union presented many gifts to the children. After the awards ceremony, the delegates also enjoyed many amusing artistic performances, listened to self-introductions, and heard many endearing "stories" from the children about their families, studies, and life aspirations.
The awards ceremony not only demonstrates the school's concern for the well-being of its staff and faculty, and serves as an opportunity to commend and encourage students to study harder, but it is also a chance for families to socialize, learn, and exchange experiences on raising well-behaved children and building happy families.
