At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh welcomed the delegation to visit the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. As one of the key units of VNU, the University is implementing an internationalization strategy through increasing international publications and expanding international relations. With China, the University welcomes about 500 students from China to study and do internships every year. In particular, the University is responsible for training Chinese students to study under the framework of the Agreement signed by the two countries. The two main research and training facilities on China of the University are the Department of Chinese Studies (Faculty of Oriental Studies) and the Center for Chinese Studies.
The President added that after the visit of Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in 2013, every year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities receives 10 scholarships from the Chinese Government, contributing to supporting human resource training for the University.
In response, Dr. Truong Ninh expressed his thanks for the warm welcome from our side. He said that the National Committee of the Chinese Scholarship Fund (CSC) wanted to learn about the cooperation situation between the University and Chinese partners, as well as to strengthen student exchanges between the two countries. He also, on behalf of the universities of the host country, sent compliments to the learning spirit and living attitude of Vietnamese students. On their side, Chinese students also gave positive feedback about the teaching staff, learning conditions, and accommodation at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
After the reception, Dr. Truong Ninh had a short exchange with students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
