Professor Jeffrey Marc Peck welcomed the proposal from Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh and stated that Wismar University wishes to learn more about the activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In particular, he proposed developing a joint training program in several fields such as computer science, library and information science, information management, quality management, etc. Accordingly, students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities would study one semester in Vietnam and one semester in Germany, then complete a master's thesis to earn 30 credits under the ECTS system. In addition, Wismar also proposed a distance learning program in computer technology and business.

Wismar University of Applied Sciences was established in 2004, offering distance education and certification training in the fields of technology, economics, and design at both Bachelor's and Master's levels.
