Implementing cooperation with Jeju Provincial Department of Education

On November 26, 2014, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Principal) received and worked with the delegation of the Jeju Provincial Department of Education (Korea) led by Professor Park Yeong Seon (Director of the Department of Financial Planning). Also attending the meeting were representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Training Cooperation.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim briefly introduced the history of training and research of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as a leading address for training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The Vice President proposed the implementation of cooperation between the Jeju Provincial Department of Education by suggesting some directions of activities between the two schools such as joint student exchanges and joint research. The school has a Faculty of Oriental Studies with a major in Korean Studies, which is one of the only addresses for training on Korea in Vietnam.

Professor Park Yeong Seon proposed to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim that the Jeju Provincial Department of Education would send students from multicultural schools nationwide to study at the School. The students. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim said that the School is ready to welcome these students and will support students who do not have enough Vietnamese language skills. In addition, the School will also send experienced teachers to teach these students.

During the working session, the two sides also had initial discussions on signing a joint cooperation document to move towards more specific cooperation.
