Meeting with the Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, National Tung Hwa University (Taiwan)

On August 13, 2018, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received Professor Vuong Dinh Tuan (Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, National Tung Hwa University, Taiwan). Also present were representatives from the Cooperation and Development Office and the Center for Gender, Population, Environment and Social Issues Research.

Professor Vuong Dinh Tuan expressed his delight at the warm welcome from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He stated that the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities has organized an international Chinese language doctoral program and hopes to welcome doctoral students from the University. The program combines language and culture with the teaching environment of doctoral students in the host country, aiming to cultivate talented individuals in teaching and researching the Chinese language. The program offers attractive scholarships such as the National Tung Hwa University Scholarship, the Southward Scholarship, and the Taiwan Government Scholarship. Furthermore, the Chinese Language Center of National Tung Hwa University hopes to welcome Vietnamese students to its Chinese language courses. Professor Vuong Dinh Tuan also extended an invitation to the university's administration and students to visit and experience the learning environment at National Tung Hwa University.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan highly appreciated the cooperation between the two universities in the past, with the most important milestone being the memorandum of understanding signed on March 19, 2018. The Vice Rector hoped that the two sides would further expand cooperation through 2+2 and 3+1 joint training programs in fields such as Sociology, History, and Literature. Regarding the suggestions and proposals of Professor Vuong Dinh Tuan, the Vice Rector committed that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities would select suitable candidates to participate in the programs and courses recommended by the Professor.

National Tung Hwa University was officially established in July 1994 and currently comprises eight major colleges and numerous outstanding academic disciplines. The university is ranked among the world's top 1000 universities, the top 200 universities in Asia according to the TIME 2018 rankings, and is among the top 5 universities in Taiwan.
