The working session aimed to further discuss the cooperation contents that the two sides had discussed during the visit to Guangxi University of Science and Technology on July 10, 2018 by the delegation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan.
Specifically, the two universities will co-organize an international scientific conference on experiences in researching and teaching political theory subjects at universities in Vietnam and China. Representatives of the two sides discussed and agreed on issues such as location, number of papers and delegates, language, and publication after the conference. The conference is scheduled to take place in mid-May 2019 and will be attended by 20 scholars, scientists, and researchers from Vietnam. Outstanding papers will be published as books or reference materials.
The two sides also discussed promoting the activities of the Center for Vietnamese Language and Culture Studies at Guangxi University of Science and Technology. Accordingly, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will send one to two researchers to work at the Center next year, in order to coordinate the implementation of cooperation programs on language, culture, society and promote relations between the two schools, serving the development of the two countries. In addition, the two schools will develop a plan to send students majoring in Social Work to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to study for a semester and carry out joint scientific research projects.
Guangxi University of Science and Technology (GUST) is a public university under the People's Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), founded in 1958. From July 5 to 16, 2018, nearly 100 students and lecturers from the Department of Linguistics and the Department of Oriental Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) came to practice and exchange at Guangxi University of Science and Technology.
