Meeting with the Political and Cultural Attaché of the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam.

During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh informed Mr. Robert Bissett about several cooperation plans between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Canadian universities such as Laval University (developing a joint master's program in International Relations, organizing an international conference on a topic of mutual interest in 2019) and Humber College (towards establishing an English center at the University; student and intern exchange). Mr. Robert Bissett highly appreciated the University's efforts to strengthen cooperation as mentioned above.

In addition, the two sides discussed organizing a meet-and-greet between Canadian writer and filmmaker Ivan Coyote and Vietnamese students. The event is scheduled to take place on November 16th at the Auditorium on the 8th floor of Building E, University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Both sides have reached preliminary agreement on issues such as the auditorium, participants, language, reception procedures, and equipment.

On behalf of the University, Professor Pham Quang Minh expressed his gratitude to the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam for the idea of ​​organizing this event. The Rector pledged that the University would do its utmost to ensure the success of the exchange. This activity not only aims to commemorate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Canada but also helps students, lecturers, and staff of the University to better understand and contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Over the past few years, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has welcomed many prominent politicians, high-ranking officials, and scholars from Canada, such as the Governor General of Canada, David Johnston, and the Premier of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne. These events were successful and left a deep impression on the partners as well as the faculty, staff, and students of the University.
