Photo exhibition "Proud to be a Vietnamese Student"

To celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2015), the Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Union and the Youth Museum, is organizing a photo exhibition with the theme "Proud to be a Vietnamese Student".

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was held at 3:00 PM on January 7, 2014, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with the participation of Mr. Bui Quang Huy - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the School Youth Department of the Central Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the Central Vietnam Student Association; Mr. Doan Hong Ha - Member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the School Youth Department of the Central Youth Union, Member of the Secretariat, Head of the Inspection Committee of the Central Vietnam Student Association; Dr. Pham Ba Khoa - Director of the Vietnam Youth Museum, Permanent Vice President of the Central Youth Union's Historical Science Council; Mr. Truong Ngoc Kiem - Member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Youth Union, Secretary of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Youth Union; Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Party Committee Member, Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department; Mr. Tran Bach Hieu - Secretary of the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Lan - Vice President of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Student Association. Noi, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, along with students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Comrade Bui Quang Huy - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Central Youth Union's School Youth Department, and Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Student Association - delivered the opening speech.

Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the exhibition.

The photo exhibition on the work of the Student Union and student movements throughout different periods was organized to review the glorious history and revolutionary traditions of students and the Vietnam Student Union; to propagate, educate, and raise awareness among students and society about the special role of students in the national revolutionary cause and in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country, with the following contents:

- Vietnamese students enthusiastically studied, trained, and participated in the resistance war against the French colonial invasion (1945 – 1954).

- The immense contributions of Vietnamese students during the period of building socialism in the North and fighting for the liberation of the South (1954 – 1975)

- Vietnamese students actively studied and trained, contributing to the restoration and development of the socio-economic situation after the war (1975 – 1986).

- Young people in schools promote the work of the Youth Union and the student movement in Vietnam for the cause of national renewal (1986 – 1996)

- Vietnamese students and young people compete to cultivate virtue, hone talents, and volunteer to build and protect the Fatherland, contributing to the acceleration of industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration (1996 to present).

- Activities of young students focused on the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Delegates visit the exhibition.

The delegates took a commemorative photo with the Youth Union - Student Association and student representatives from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The photo exhibition "Proud Vietnamese Students" took place over three days (from January 7th to 9th, 2015) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and will then be held at other universities and colleges in Hanoi.
