Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh congratulated Professor Momoki Shiro and emphasized: “The strong development of Hanoi National University has great contributions from scholars and famous research experts at home and abroad, including Professor Momoki Shiro”. The Vice President of the University was particularly impressed by the professor's research works and special affection for the history and culture of Vietnam in general, and the staff and students of the University in particular.

At the age of 60, the Professor has always made efforts in research and training, guiding the team of Japanese students and trainees who are passionate about learning about Vietnamese history to continue developing on the path of science.

Professor Momoki Shiro (Osaka University, Japan) is a specialist in the history of the Ly - Tran period, especially the Tran Dynasty of Vietnam. He studies military activities and local governance in Vietnam under the Ly Dynasty, the political structure of Vietnam during the Tran Dynasty, changes in Dai Viet society in the 14th century through epigraphy - a survey of the Ha Tay region... He also focuses on the research of Thang Long citadel by re-exploiting ancient documents. At the same time, he is also a historian with many famous monographs on Champa and East Asian maritime trade. He is the author of many scientific works such as "Vietnamese Encyclopedia" and many famous scientific articles published in Vietnam in specialized scientific research journals...
