The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has achieved initial success in implementing e-learning with the UPM platform.

According to the university's leadership, thanks to the support in deploying e-learning using the platform technology of UPM Education Development Joint Stock Company, online teaching has initially been implemented smoothly and quite effectively on a large scale. It is particularly commendable that UPM has sponsored and provided this software free of charge to the faculty and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. This is a generous gesture from a former student of the university who is currently the Chairman of Bao Ninh Investment Group, the parent company of UPM.

Lecturers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, are enthusiastic about the training and implementation of online teaching and learning.

Over 200 lecturers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities successfully completed two days of training on this e-learning software. During the Covid-19 pandemic, despite having to wear masks and wash their hands with silver nanoparticle disinfectant as recommended by experts, the lecturers actively participated in training, discussions, and exchanges of experiences to prepare for a semester of significant innovation in both thinking and teaching methods, based on maximizing the benefits of information technology. According to the plan, another online training session for lecturers will be held this weekend, bringing the total number of trained teachers to approximately 250.

UPM's e-learning platform has initially been evaluated by faculty and technical staff as having many outstanding features compared to other online learning applications, especially in its ability to multi-directional interaction between teachers and students; effective class and group management; support for multimedia teaching with videos, images, text, and graphics; and easy data sharing. The platform helps organize virtual classes while allowing for the full implementation of teaching activities, group exchanges, discussions, presentations, etc., just like a normal classroom.

Mr. Nguyen Phan Huy Khoi, Chairman of Bao Ninh Group

Chairman of Bao Ninh Group, Mr. Nguyen Phan Huy Khoi, shared: UPM is a system localized by the company based on a system built and implemented by the company itself for many universities in France. This software meets the needs of digital transformation in training at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Regarding the software, UPM can be deployed stably with tens or hundreds of thousands of concurrent users (CCU), provided the hardware and bandwidth are adequate.

When the system was first implemented at the University, it supported the teaching of 180 lecturers, 392 course modules, and over 6,000 registered students. By March 12th, this number had increased to 200 lecturers, 400 course modules, and over 8,000 students. Initially, the University only designated a limited number of lecturers to pilot online teaching, but due to the overwhelmingly positive response from lecturers across the university, exceeding initial expectations, the University and UPM quickly decided to upgrade the system, servers, and network infrastructure to boost e-learning on the new platform, aiming for synchronized, widespread, and effective implementation.

Actively contributing and supporting the University, UPM proposes: upgrading hardware and bandwidth; load balancing by arranging appropriate and evenly distributed class schedules; training lecturers in specific skills to avoid network overload...

Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) shared this at the online teaching training session.

The Vice Rector of the University, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, stated: "To date, all lecturers have shown enthusiasm and quickly adapted to the new teaching platform; they assess that the UPM Platform software is very convenient to use and meets the practical needs of both teachers and students. Students have also adapted very quickly and are taking advantage of the benefits of this new teaching method. The university will provide maximum support in all aspects to ensure effective online teaching, guaranteeing quality and convenience for both teachers and students, as well as for the university's management. Implementing E-learning will be a key activity in the university's teaching innovation efforts this academic year and in the years to come."

The Vice Rector also expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic support of Bao Ninh Group and Mr. Huy Khoi personally, which helped the teachers make timely changes in their thinking and teaching methods, especially in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic which is significantly affecting the training work of schools today.
