Reception of Deputy Ambassador of Singapore Embassy in Hanoi

On April 8, 2014, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with Mr. Raymond Chow (Counselor and Deputy Ambassador) and Ms. Thang Thuc Ky (First Secretary) of the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Hanoi. Attending the reception was MSc. Tran Diep Thanh - Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Training Cooperation.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed important topics in the political, economic and cultural relations of the Southeast Asian region in particular and the world in general, such as Vietnam's policy in promoting cooperation within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Singapore's role in promoting solidarity among ASEAN countries, as well as the impact of countries outside ASEAN such as the United States and China on intra-bloc development...

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh said that all countries in ASEAN have a role and aspiration to contribute to the common unity of the bloc as well as ensure equal development among members. As Counselor of the Embassy of Singapore in Hanoi, Mr. Raymond Chow completely agrees with the above comments.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

      

 

 

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh discusses Vietnam's policy in relations with other countries.

Mr. Raymond Chow also discussed some cooperation opportunities between Singapore and Vietnamese universities such as the National University of Singapore and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities through short-term and long-term courses... Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh welcomed Mr. Raymond Chow's proposals and affirmed that these cooperations will contribute to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Singapore and Vietnam as well as intra-ASEAN cooperation.

It is known that Singapore is the country with the largest volume of foreign direct investment in Vietnam among ASEAN countries and is the second largest investor in Asia, after Japan.
