Promoting cooperation with the Swedish Higher Education Council

During the meeting, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh introduced the research and training activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, highlighting its position as a leading university in Vietnam in social science research and training. With the goal of becoming a research university, the University continuously strengthens its scientific research activities in both quantity and quality of publications, prioritizing the expansion of international research cooperation. In 2013, 21 scientific articles by faculty members were published in foreign journals, including 5 articles in specialized journals listed in the ISI and SCOPUS databases, etc.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh expressed his desire to promote cooperation with the Swedish Council for Higher Education through activities such as sponsoring short-term and long-term courses in English, as well as organizing international conferences and exchanging faculty and students to improve the quality of research and teaching. He believes that faculty and student exchanges between the two sides provide opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and improve the foreign language skills of the staff. Ms. Anna Lindeberg stated that the Council is ready to support the University in organizing and sponsoring these activities, and emphasized that strengthening foreign language proficiency is one of the top priorities for cooperation between the Council and the University.

Initially, Sweden will assist the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in establishing training and exchange programs in Political Science between students of the University and Stockholm University (Sweden). Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the proposal and considered it a useful initiative in expanding research and training in the field of Political Science at the University.

The Swedish Higher Education Council is a government body established on January 1, 2013, with the aim of promoting education, particularly higher education, both domestically and internationally.
