
During the meeting, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh introduced the activities and cooperation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with universities and research institutes in France. The Rector stated that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is currently implementing collaborative training programs with universities in Paris, Toulouse I, Toulouse II, etc. In addition, many research programs, scientific projects, and international conferences have been jointly carried out. Notably, the University is an active member of the Agency for Francophone Universities (AUF). The visit and working session of professors and scientists from the French Academy of Overseas Sciences to the University is a good start and will promote the cooperative relationship between the two sides in the future. The Rector expressed his hope that the University will receive cooperation and assistance from the Academy in training, research, and international cooperation. He also proposed that a cooperation agreement be reached between the two sides to implement specific activities.
Representing the French Academy of Overseas Sciences, Mr. Pierre Gény agreed that a cooperation agreement should be reached soon between the two sides and expressed hope for long-term collaboration in the future. Mr. Pierre Gény emphasized that the French Academy of Overseas Sciences is ready to act as a bridge connecting the training and research networks between French universities and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He also stated that the Academy is always ready to share research materials and experiences, and welcome Vietnamese experts and scientists to conduct research.
The French Academy of Overseas Sciences was founded on May 18, 1923, on the initiative of journalist Paul Bourdarie. The Academy is a scientific organization that conducts research in the fields of science, politics, economics, technology, history, society, culture, and issues concerning overseas countries. It also brings together the most prominent French and foreign scientists in these fields, with a scientific and non-profit purpose.
