Vice Principal Hoang Anh Tuan and Professor Philippe Papin, along with Dr. Dinh Thanh Hieu (Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature), Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son (Deputy Head of the Faculty of History) and candidates (currently students of Han Nom, History, and Archeology) took a souvenir photo after the meeting.
At the meeting, experts listened to candidates present their research projects, focusing on three main areas: Han Nom, History, and Archaeology. Based on the use of stele documents (especially post-steles) from the 15th-19th centuries, candidates will write master's theses and doctoral theses on various topics: ancient fine arts, ancient languages, history (economics, religion, society, gender, etc.). The above studies all aim to build a complete scientific manuscript that can be published as monographs within the framework of the Vietnamica Project.
It is expected that in the 2019-2020 academic year, 3 master's scholarships (1 year) and 1 doctoral scholarship (3 years) will be awarded to students and postgraduates of the School with excellent topics, passion for the major and commitment to the final scientific product.
Masters and PhDs supported by the Vietnamica Project are expected to be an important source of scientific human resources for maintaining and promoting basic sciences in Vietnam.
