Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan and Professor Philippe Papin, along with Dr. Dinh Thanh Hieu (Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Hong Son (Deputy Head of the Faculty of History), and the candidates (currently students and trainees in the fields of Sino-Vietnamese Studies, History, and Archaeology) took a commemorative photo after the working session.
During the meeting, the experts listened to the candidates present their research projects, focusing on three main areas: Sino-Vietnamese studies, history, and archaeology. Based on the use of epigraphic materials (especially epigraphic texts) from the 15th-19th centuries, the candidates will develop master's theses and doctoral dissertations on various topics: ancient art, ancient languages, history (economics, religion, society, gender, etc.). All research aims to create complete scientific manuscripts that can be published as monographs within the framework of the Vietnamica Project.
It is expected that in the 2019-2020 academic year, 3 master's scholarships (1 year) and 1 doctoral scholarship (3 years) will be awarded to students and researchers of the University who have outstanding research topics, a passion for their field of study, and a commitment to producing a final scientific product.
Master's and doctoral graduates supported by the Vietnamica Project are expected to be an important source of scientific human resources for maintaining and promoting basic science disciplines in Vietnam.
