Presenting gifts to student Pham Thien Ha, majoring in Public Relations - University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On December 3, 2020, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), the Trade Union, the Youth Union and the Women's Committee of the Central Organizing Committee, the Thai Binh Provincial Youth Union - Young Entrepreneurs Association, the Vietnam Volunteer Resource Information Center, the Vietnam Student Support and Development Center and the Vietnam Student Support and Development Fund, along with Mr. Dam Quang Tuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quang Thien Minh Investment - Construction - Trading Joint Stock Company, organized a visit to encourage and present gifts to Pham Thien Ha, the eldest daughter of martyr Pham Van Huong (a martyr who died at Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Plant, Thua Thien Hue), with the hope that she will overcome her grief and soon stabilize her life.

Due to the impact of typhoon No. 6, many areas were buried under landslides, resulting in numerous missing and injured people. Among them was the Rào Trăng 3 Hydropower Plant's control center in Phong Xuân commune, Phong Điền district (Thừa Thiên Huế province). During rescue operations, 13 officers and soldiers from the control team were buried under debris and perished due to flash floods from upstream. Among them was journalist Phạm Văn Hướng, who died while his two children were still in school, and his family was facing particularly difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu acknowledged and thanked the valuable contributions from the participating units. On behalf of the University, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu shared that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will waive tuition fees for Pham Thien Ha until she graduates.

The following organizations and groups presented gifts to the two sisters, martyrs Pham Van Huong and her sibling:

Trade Union, Youth Union and Women's Committee of the Central Organizing Committee: 20 million VND  

Thai Binh Provincial Youth Union – Thai Binh Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association: 20 million VND  

Vietnam Student Support and Development Center and Vietnam Student Support and Development Fund: 5 million VND  

Mr. Dam Quang Tuan – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quang Thien Minh Investment – ​​Construction – Trading Joint Stock Company - 125 million VND

Mr. Dam Quang Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quang Thien Minh Investment - Construction - Trading Joint Stock Company, donated a scholarship worth 125 million VND to Pham Hoang Anh (the second daughter of martyr Pham Van Huong), disbursed annually from 2020 when she was in 12th grade until she finishes university.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee of the University's Party Committee - Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication - the unit where Pham Thien Ha is studying, shared: The University and the Institute deeply share the pain and great loss of student Thien Ha and her family. She acknowledged that journalism is a noble profession but also extremely dangerous. The Institute, the teachers, and the students will always stand by Thien Ha and help her overcome all difficulties ahead.

Student Pham Thien Ha expressed her gratitude to the organizations and individuals who donated gifts and supported her and her sisters in overcoming difficulties.
