2. Objectives of the training program

2.1. General Objectives

- The Master's program in Political Science, with a research-oriented focus, aims to train Master's graduates in Political Science who possess both fundamental and modern, in-depth knowledge of political science, relevant to the country's development in the context of openness and integration with the region and the world; and who are prepared and capable of contributing to the goal of firmly protecting national independence and sovereignty, and building a prosperous, strong, democratic, just, and civilized Vietnam.

2.2. Specific Objectives

ButThe program equips students with knowledge equivalent to a Master's degree in Political Science, ensuring both fundamental and modern content, while expanding and enhancing upon the Bachelor's degree level, in line with the socio-political realities of the country in the context of openness and integration with the region and the world;

ButUpon completion of the course, trainees will not only enhance their knowledge, skills, and professional expertise, but also their moral character, political stance, and fortitude to meet the requirements of building and defending the socialist Fatherland, promoting industrialization and modernization of the country in the context of opening up and integrating into the region and the international community;

          ButThe program equips students with general scientific research methods, specialized research methods, and professional skills so that learners can be independent and creative in research and teaching of Political Science, as well as in practical political and social activities in their assigned positions;

ButWhile pursuing a master's degree at the university, students can participate in research on the following core topics:

+ Fundamental theoretical issues of political science;

+ Issues concerning Vietnamese political history and contemporary Vietnamese political life;

+ Modern political theories and their applications in political life;

+ International political relations;

+ Comparative politics between countries and regions;

+ Security issues and conflicts in national and international political life;

+ Politics and social development;

3. Admission Information

3.1 Admission methods

The entrance exam includes the following subjects:

- Basic subject: General Political Science

- Foundation subject: History of Political Doctrine

- Foreign language: one of five languages: English, Russian, French, German, or Chinese.

3.2. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the Master's program in Political Science must meet all of the following conditions:

- Has a clean personal record and is not currently under criminal investigation;

- Possess a university degree in a field directly related to or relevant to Political Science; or possess a university degree in a related field and a certificate from a supplementary knowledge course (25 credits) to achieve a level equivalent to a university degree in Political Science.

3.3. List of suitable and related fields:

Suitable industry: Party and state administration, state management, international relations, or fields where the content and duration of study from different knowledge areas are less than 10% compared to political science.

Related industries:Civics, Political Science, National Defense and Security, International Studies, Oriental Studies, Southeast Asian Studies, Chinese Studies, Japanese Studies, Korean Studies, Pacific Studies, Philosophy, History, Cultural Studies, Economics, International Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Journalism, International Communication, Public Relations, Management Science, Law, Public Administration in Security and Order, or other disciplines with content and study time from different knowledge blocks ranging from 10% to 40% compared to Political Science.

3.4. List of supplementary knowledge courses

The supplementary knowledge program for candidates from related fields to prepare for the Master's program in Political Science requires a certain number of credits to be accumulated.25(Required: 17 credits; Elective: 8 credits), and includes the following list of supplementary courses:
