2. Objectives of the training program

2.1 General Objectives

  • Systematizing basic knowledge;
  • To build and develop students' skills in applying theoretical knowledge of religious studies to solve practical problems;
  • Develop critical thinking skills to approach new problems in practical activities.

Upon graduating with a Master's degree in Applied Religious Studies, students will have accumulated a systematic body of theoretical knowledge and proficient skills in applying those theories to solve problems in religious life in Vietnam. They will possess the capacity to work independently and creatively; the ability to apply research results, discover and organize the implementation of complex tasks in their professional activities; and effectively utilize specialized knowledge in Religious Studies to perform specific tasks, appropriate to the practical conditions at their agencies, organizations, and economic units. Furthermore, students will have the ability to continue their research and studies at higher levels.

2.2 Specific Objectives

- To deepen learned knowledge in practical aspects;

- The ability to apply theory to practice;

- Learners develop skills independently or enhance existing skills to apply them in practice;

- To cultivate students' ability to discover new things through critical thinking;

- The ability to conduct research to find solutions to practical problems;

- To impart theoretical knowledge and practical experience;

- Ability to summarize practical experiences.

3. Admission Information

3.1 Admission method:The entrance exam includes the following subjects:

  • Basic Examination Subject: Marxist-Leninist Philosophy (Non-Philosophy major)
  • Foundation subject: General Religious Studies
  • Foreign Language: Level B, in one of the following five languages: English, Russian, French, German, or Chinese (equivalent to level 3/6 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnamese people).

3.2. Eligibility Criteria:

- Applicants for the Master of Religious Studies program with an applied focus must meet the following requirements:

+ Has a clean personal record and is not currently under criminal investigation;

- Possess a university degree in the correct, relevant, or closely related field, or other fields for which supplementary education has been completed to achieve a level equivalent to a university degree in Religious Studies;

- Submit all required documents, certificates, papers, and examination fees in full, correctly, and on time, as stipulated by Hanoi National University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

ButRegarding years of service:

+ For those with a university degree in a relevant or related field: no work experience is required.

+ For those with a university degree in a related field: they must have at least one year of work experience in a field related to Religious Studies;

+ For those with a university degree in another field: they must have at least two years of work experience in a field related to Religious Studies.
