University of Social Sciences and Humanities is enrolling students for a short-term training course granting certificates in Journalism Writing Skills, starting in July 2010.
1. Object
Students who have graduated/are studying at colleges/universities.
2. Objective
At the end of the course, students will have acquired basic knowledge and skills of journalism, specifically as follows:
- The face of Vietnamese journalism and career opportunities in the field of print media;
- Skills in problem identification, information gathering and assessment of press information;
- Interviewing skills as a professional practice of journalists, and interviewing as an independent genre of journalism;
- Basic journalism genres such as news, interviews, portraits, reports, and reflections;
- Article organization;
- Headline skills
- Writing skills for printed articles
- Basic skills to create photo works for articles.
3. Study time
8 weeks. 3 sessions per week.
4. Use students' practice products
Appropriate and good quality practical products will be posted on the website of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the authors will receive royalties according to the current regulations of the school.
5. Opening ceremony
July 20, 2010
6. Tuition
2,200,000 VND/student/course. Discounts for the following subjects:
- Students of University of Social Sciences and Humanities: 1,550,000 VND/student/course.
- Former students of University of Social Sciences and Humanities: 1,800,000 VND/course.
Pay at least 70% of tuition upon registration. No refund after the start of the course.
7. Register for study
From July 1, 2010 to July 15, 2010 at the Center for Journalism and Communication (3rd Floor, Building H, 336 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi). Registration documents include:
- Application form (receive and fill out at the registration office)
- Copy of student ID/university diploma
- 2 photos 3 x 4 cm (taken within the last 3 months)
