Admission to journalism and media training class (July 2010)

University of Social Sciences and Humanities is enrolling students for short-term journalism and communication training courses, expected to open in July 2010.

1. Course "Television profession"

- Object: Students who have graduated/are studying at colleges/universities.- Target: At the end of the course, students will grasp basic theoretical knowledge about television, and master professional skills to produce a television program. Specifically as follows: + Television scripts and scripts; television program production process; television journalism genres; television terminology. + Techniques for filming basic television genres such as television news, reports, television documentaries, music video clips... Students will practice filming on modern video cameras. + Non-linear film editing techniques and popular computer graphics effects programs today. Study in depth the latest film editing and special effects software on computers such as: Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Hollwood FX, Adobe After Effects... Study 100% directly on a powerful computer, practice on film editing cards from Matrox, Pinnacle... Edit television genres, music video clips, commercials...- Practice time: 70% of course duration- Use students' products:Students' appropriate and high-quality practice products will be posted on the website of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and will receive royalties according to the school's current regulations.- Study time: 6 weeks. 3 sessions per week.- Tuition:Outside school students: 1,900,000 VND

• Students are students in the school (with student card): 1,300,000 VND
• Former student of University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with degree): 1,600,000 VND

2. Course "Television filming techniques"

- Object: People with high school degree or higher.- Target: At the end of the course, students will master the skills of filming television, be proficient in filming angles, frames, camera movements to film events, music clips, advertisements or film television genres. Specifically as follows: + Basic techniques of color and light as well as how to represent color in television, principles of television technology such as image analysis, sound, image distortion, signal correction, synchronization signals... principles of color television technology, systems such as PAL, NTSC... digital television. + Basic and advanced filming techniques of basic television genres such as television news, reports, television documentaries, music video clips... - Practice time: 70% of the course duration - Study time: 5 weeks. 3 sessions per week.- Tuition:Outside school students: 1,300,000 VND

• Students are students in the school (with student card): 900,000 VND
• Former student of University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with degree): 1,100,000 VND

Pay at least 70% of tuition when registering. No refund after the start of the course.

3. Register for study

From July 1, 2010 to date15/7/2010at the Center for Journalism and Communication (3rd floor, building H, 336 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi). Registration documents include: - Application form (receive and fill in the form at the place of registration) - Copy of student ID card/university diploma - 2 photos 3 x 4 cm (taken within the last 3 months)
