The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is recruiting students for short-term journalism and media training courses, scheduled to begin in July 2010.
1. The "Television Production" course
- Object: Students who have graduated from or are currently studying at colleges/universities.
- TargetUpon completion of the course, students will have a solid understanding of television theory and mastered the professional skills needed to produce a television program. Specifically, this includes: + Scriptwriting and television scripts; television program production processes; television journalism genres; television terminology. + Techniques for shooting basic television genres such as news, documentaries, music videos, etc. Students will practice shooting on modern video cameras. + Techniques for non-linear editing and common computer graphics special effects programs. In-depth learning of the latest video editing and special effects software on computers such as Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Hollywood FX, Adobe After Effects… 100% direct learning on high-performance computers, practicing on video editing cards from Matrox, Pinnacle… Editing various television genres, music videos, commercials…
- Practice time: 70% of the course duration
- Using student projectsStudents' suitable and high-quality practical projects will be published on the website of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and they will receive royalties according to the university's current regulations.
- Study time6 weeks. 3 sessions per week.
- TuitionFor students from outside the school: 1,900,000 VND
- Students who are enrolled in the school (with student ID): 1,300,000 VND
- Former students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with diplomas): 1,600,000 VND
2. The course "Television Filming Techniques"
- ObjectIndividuals with a high school diploma or higher.
- TargetUpon completion of the course, students will have mastered the skills of television filming, becoming proficient in camera angles, framing, and camera movements to film events, music videos, commercials, or various types of television programs. Specifically: + Basic techniques of color and lighting, as well as color representation in television; principles of television technology such as image and sound analysis, image distortion correction, signal synchronization, etc.; principles of color television technology; systems such as PAL, NTSC, etc.; and digital television. + Basic and advanced filming techniques for basic television genres such as news, documentaries, music videos, etc. - Practical training time: 70% of the course duration - Course duration: 5 weeks. 3 sessions per week.

- Former students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with diplomas): 1,100,000 VND
A minimum of 70% of the tuition fee must be paid upon registration. Tuition fees are non-refundable after the course begins.
3. Register for the course
From July 1st, 2010 to the following date:
15/7/2010At the Center for Journalism and Communication Studies (3rd floor, Building H, 336 Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi). Registration documents include: - Application form (obtain and fill out at the registration location) - Copy of student ID/university diploma - 2 photos 3 x 4 cm (taken within the last 3 months)
