10. Summary of new results of the thesis:
- The thesis is a comprehensive and in-depth research work on the trade relations of the coastal ports of North Central Vietnam in the 11th-19th centuries. Based on the sources of documents, the thesis clarifies the foreign relations of the main coastal ports of North Central Vietnam through the activities of merchants, merchant ships, and commercial goods.
- Based on the commercial activities of the North Central coastal ports, the thesis draws out the characteristics of the activities, characteristics of trade relations, position and role of this port cluster in the regional and international trade system. At the same time, the thesis clarifies the role of exogenous factors in the development of the North Central coastal ports, the international nature of these ports in history.
- The thesis is a scientific work on the North Central trading port cluster for more than 8 centuries, from the early 11th century to the mid-19th century. Therefore, the reconstruction of the foreign economic activities of these trading ports, in addition to clarifying the history of foreign trade in the North Central region, also has additional significance for the overall picture of Vietnam's foreign trade in the medieval period.
11. Practical application:
- The research results of the thesis help deepen the awareness of the position and role of the North Central Coast; the comments on the characteristics, position and role of the commercial ports that the thesis draws provide a historical reference view on the movement of the current North Central Coast commercial ports; at the same time, provide some meaningful arguments for reference in the development of the North Central Coast commercial ports in the current period.

- The thesis is a comprehensive and intensive work on the commercial relationship of Coastalcommercial ports in Central-North Vietnamfrom the 11th to 19th centuries. Given various and dimensional sources of materials, the thesis seeks to highlight the external relations of all major ports in terms of traders, ships and commodity exchanges.
- Based on commercial activities incoastalcommercial ports in Central - North Vietnam, thedissertationrevisits the position and role of these commercial port clusters in the regional and international trading system (the role of exogenous factors impacting on the development, international character ofthese ports and so on).
- The thesis is a scientific work that reflects the regional and international relations in Central-Northern Coastal Commercial Portsmore than eight centuries, from the beginning of the eleventh century to the middle of the nineteenth century.The thesis provides a general picture on Vietnam's foreign trade in the middle ages and pre-modern periods.
