10. Summary of new results of the thesis:
The novelty of this thesis lies in its analysis and synthesis of most manifestations of coherence in English and Vietnamese economic contract texts using a discourse analysis approach. From there, a comparative analysis of coherence is conducted through linking devices and relationships in both English and Vietnamese economic contract texts to identify similarities and differences in coherence. The results of this comparative analysis are clearly systematized by the author according to each form of coherence expression in English and Vietnamese economic contract texts, aiming to correct errors in the drafting and translation of English-Vietnamese economic contract texts. This is not only a contribution from a social science perspective but also from an economic perspective, as economic contracts are a prerequisite for the business results of economic organizations.
11. Practical applications:
The research findings of this thesis can be used as a guide and reference for the compilation and translation of economic contract documents in English and Vietnamese. The thesis is a useful reference source for in-depth research on various types of contract documents.

The coherence in Vietnamese civil contracts is evident because civil contracts have the same legal value as economic contracts and also belong to the category of administrative and official style like economic contracts.

The new finding of the thesis is analyzing and summarizing almost the appearance of coherence in English and Vietnamese business contracts according to the perspectives of discourse analysis, from which a comparative and contrastive analysis is carried out in order to find out the similarities and differences in terms of coherence between English business contracts and Vietnamese business contracts. The results of this study are written separately in accordance with each coherence case in business contracts to avoid mistakes in composing and translating these business texts. This thesis brings benefits for both social study and economic application because business contracts play important roles in achieving good outcomes for business organizations and companies.
11. Practical applicability:
The research results of this doctoral thesis bring about not only theoretical conclusions in linguistics but also practical implications for composing and translating business contracts from English into Vietnamese or from Vietnamese into English.
