1. Purpose and scope of the thesis research:

1.1. Purpose: Based on clarifying some theoretical issues regarding the development of environmental ethics, this thesis analyzes the current situation, causes, and proposes some key solutions to improve the effectiveness of environmental ethics development in Vietnam today.

1.2. Research subject: environmental ethics and the development of environmental ethics in Vietnam today.

2. Research methods used

The dissertation employs the dialectical materialism methodology, combining the unified methods of analysis and synthesis; logic and history; systems and structure; textual studies; and interdisciplinary social sciences.

3. Main results and conclusions

3.1. Main results

- Analyzing the essence of environmental ethics; its goals, content, subjects, and methods for building environmental ethics.

- Present and analyze the influencing factors, current situation, causes, and challenges in building environmental ethics in Vietnam today.

- Propose several solutions to improve the effectiveness of environmental ethics development in Vietnam today.

3.2. Conclusion

-In the current context of reform in our country, it is essential to build environmental ethics based on the realities and requirements of resource and environmental protection.

- The essence of building environmental ethics includes: building environmental ethical awareness and building environmentally ethical behavior through three methods of environmental ethics development: law, education, and cultural lifestyle.

- To improve the effectiveness of building environmental ethics in our country today, it is necessary to implement a comprehensive set of solutions: Strengthening the role of law in building environmental ethics; further promoting and improving the effectiveness of environmental ethics education; and further promoting the building of a cultural environment and a cultured lifestyle.

The thesis utilizes the methodology of dialectical materialism together with analysis - synthesis; logic - history; system – structure and documentary related to interdisciplinary social sciences

- Analyze the nature of environmental ethics; analyze the objective, content, stakeholders and methods to build environmental ethics.

- Present and analyze current situations, causes and impacts, and issues i building environmental ethics in Vietnam at present.

- Propose some solutions to improve the effectiveness of environmental ethics development in Vietnam at present

3.2. Conclusions

- In the current transformation period of Vietnam, it is necessary to build environmental ethics due to real demands and requirements of environmental and natural resources protection.

- The essence of environmental ethics development includes building environmental ethical consciousness and behaviors through three modes of environmental ethics development, which are law, education and lifestyle.

- In order to improve the effectiveness of environmental ethics development in Vietnam at present, it is necessary to concurrently carry out the following measures: To enhance the role of laws and regulations; To further increase the effectiveness of environmental education; To further promote the development of civilized culture and lifestyle.
