Summary of Thesis Results: The thesis analyzed and evaluated the impact of resettlement activities on the lives of people in the ADB project area in Ha Tinh town, Ha Tinh province and Tam Ky town, Quang Nam province, based on criteria related to material living conditions such as socio-economic, cultural, and environmental aspects, as well as criteria regarding people's satisfaction during the resettlement process and in the process of restoring life after resettlement, and commented on the sustainable development potential of the people. Socio-economic, cultural, and environmental impacts: Socio-economic impacts: Residents in resettlement areas have to reinvest from scratch to rebuild their homes and restore their lives. Infrastructure in resettlement areas is only equipped at a basic level, initially meeting the minimum needs of the resettled people. Cultural impacts: Resettled people find it difficult to integrate into the new community. They need a certain amount of time and support from the local government to adapt to their new living environment. Environmental impacts: In resettlement areas, activities to stabilize life such as building and completing houses and roads continue, causing some environmental problems such as dust, noise, and construction waste. In general, basic infrastructure such as electricity and drainage systems have been installed. The lives of people after resettlement are still affected by an unstable environment. Residents' satisfaction during the resettlement preparation process: Residents were very satisfied with their full participation in preparatory activities such as community meetings, policy dissemination, damage assessment, and compensation payments. They had positive feedback on the preparation process and highly appreciated the implementation. However, residents were dissatisfied with the compensation amount, believing it was insufficient to restore their lives in their new homes. During the process of restoring life: People face many difficulties in the process of restoring their lives, income does not increase, the environment is not stable, infrastructure is still lacking, and vocational training programs are not uniformly provided across resettlement areas. From the above research results, the author has made several suggestions for policies, for local authorities, and for people to improve the quality of life of people after resettlement. 11. Summary of the findings of the thesis: The thesis has analyzed and evaluated the impact of resettlement activities on the lives of people in the project area of ADB project with the cases of Ha Tinh city in Ha Tinh province and town of Tam Ki in Quang Nam province through different criteria in material life as sociometric, cultural, environmental and criteria on the level of satisfaction of the people in the process of resettlement and live restoration after resettlement and the extents of sustainable development of the people. In general, the basic infrastructure such as power lines, drainage works etc. have been equipped to the resettlement sites. The living of resettlers still be impacted by the unsettled environment. Level of satisfaction During the course of resettlement: People are pleased to be fully involved in the preparatory activities such as community meetings, and project policy disclosure, inventory of losses, compensation payment. The people have good reviews on the implementation process and appreciate the work done. But people are not satisfied with compensation rates and complaining that it is not enough to restore their life in the new resettlement sites. During the livelihood restoration:Local people meet with difficulty in the process of restoring life and income increases, less stable environment, basic infrastructure, the vocational training programs were unequally provided among the areas. • According to these findings, the author offers some suggestions for policy makers and local people to improve the quality of life of resettlers. 12.
