Summary of the results of the thesis: - The activities in the free time of rural people are not diverse and the time spent on these activities is not much. Common activities are watching TV and talking with friends and neighbors, followed by some irregular activities: such as listening to the radio, reading newspapers, going to pagodas/churches... - There is a statistically significant difference between the characteristics of gender, age, education level and family living standards with the use of free time. - Among the factors affecting the use of free time in rural areas, economic conditions are the strongest factor, followed by factors such as: the division of labor in the family, institutions and activities, and local cultural movements. - From the above research results, it can be seen that, with the characteristics of purely agricultural communes and moderate urbanization, there is still much to be done from economic development to building rural cultural life to meet the aspirations of rural people in the new era. 11.
