Summary of the results of the thesis: The thesis analyzed and evaluated the awareness of Vietnamese adolescents aged 15-17 about gender equality and influencing factors. The results of qualitative and quantitative research showed that: - The rate of adolescents agreeing with the traditional division of labor model is lower than that of other adult groups with the same views, but this rate is still high, showing that there is still a part of adolescents today who still have biased views in their perceptions of the roles and capacities of women and men. - In terms of the decision-maker of economic issues in the family, the number of adolescents who think that both husband and wife should make the main decisions is relatively high, but the gap between husband and wife is still large. - Factors related to the personal and family characteristics of adolescents have a strong influence on their awareness of gender equality. Gender inequality is more pronounced among rural adolescents, male adolescents, adolescents with lower living standards, and adolescents in families with low-educated parents. Meanwhile, adolescents in urban families, those with rich/well-off living standards, those with highly educated parents, and families with shared work between husband and wife have more equal perceptions. - In families with equal division of work, from housework, caring for the elderly, children to household production and business activities, adolescents in these families have more equitable perceptions through the emphasis on the roles and power of both women and men. Meanwhile, influenced by the unequal division of labor in the family, the gender division of labor in housework has invisibly created a "rule" in the thinking of many adolescents. - The father's education also has a significant impact on their children's awareness of gender equality. In particular, the influence of the father's education is more evident in the group of fathers with low education, when the awareness of these adolescents is more conservative than that of adolescents whose mothers have low education. This data shows the important role of the father in the children's awareness of gender equality. Therefore, gender equality education is not only for adolescents but should also have the participation of adolescent parents. 11.
