Summary of the thesis results: 1) Review the most important criteria for evaluating an integrated library management system, from which to deeply study the system architecture, technical requirements, system operation skill requirements and main features such as OPAC, Supplement, Cataloging, Circulation, Periodicals, Reports of the open source integrated library management system Koha version 3.2.0 running on Ubuntu version 10.10 operating system. 2) Based on the customization capabilities of Koha, in chapter 2, the thesis focuses on designing information entry worksheets for book documents, basic topics and theses, which are the 3 main document types of the Institute of Geography according to the MARC21 format; Formatting information visualization according to ISBD and labeling the spine of documents are the main professional tasks that libraries go through when building electronic libraries. Along with the program's available reporting system, after referring to MySQL commands, the author tried to write some simple business reports such as: - List of document catalogs including title, author, publisher, registration number; - List of documents by CallNumber; - List of documents by individual registration,... 3) After evaluating the facilities, financial capacity, information resources, information needs and needs for managing printed document warehouses of the Institute of Geography's Documentation Department, combined with studies on the applicability of Koha for different types of libraries, the thesis has made recommendations on expertise and the use of Koha to deploy the organization and construction of an electronic library for the Institute of Geography's Documentation Department. The quantitative results obtained are an integrated database: Books: 243 records; Textbooks: 15 records; Thesis: 18 records and Basic topics: 236 records published in OPAC on the Internet. 12. Practical applicability: The results of the research and practical implementation of Koha at the Documentation Department of the Institute of Geography are the basis for widely deploying this open source library management system for libraries and document rooms of agencies in Vietnam. 13. Summary results of the thesis: 1) The thesis reviewed the most important criteria to evaluate an integrated library management system, then studied system architecture, technical requirements, skills requirements for operating the system and main modules: OPAC, Acquisitions, Cataloging, Circulation, Serials, Reports of Koha open source integrated library management system version 3.2.0 running on OS Ubuntu version 10.10. 2) Based on Koha customize, in chapter 2, the thesis designed worksheets for three different material types: book, research work and thesis are three items types of Institute of Geography with MARC21 format; Show format information with ISBD; Spine label. On the basis of the already available report system, in consulting with MySQL commands, the author created some simple report models, such as: - The list of documents with information of Title, Author, Publications; - The list of documents with information of CallNumber; - The list of documents with information of Barcode. 3) After evaluating facilities, finance, information resources and library management needs of Institute of Geography Library, combining with studies about the applicability of Koha for libraries, the thesis set up proposals for professional organizations and implementing electronic library for Institute of Geographical Library using Koha ILS. Results: a book database with 243 records, textbook database with 15 records, thesis database with 18 records, especially the research work database with 236 records is also published on the Internet. 12. Applicability in Practice: Koha research results and practical implementation in Institute of Geography Library is the basis for the widely deploying Koha for the efficient organization, management, exploitation of print resources in libraries, institutes, organizations in Vietnam. 13.
