2. Objectives of the training program:

2.1. General Objectives

The Master's program in Applied Archival Studies helps students enhance their ability to apply theory to practice in organizing and managing archival work and archival documents such asIdentifying and resolving, or organizing the resolution of, related issues in the practical work of archiving.;Advising and proposing solutions to improve the quality of archival work.;Develop regulations on archival work and archival documents.;Training and guidance on archiving work.;Inspect and organize the implementation of archiving operations.In addition, graduates of this program are equipped with the necessary skills and qualities to teach archival studies at colleges and universities.

2.2. Specific Objectives

The Master's program in Applied Archival Studies is designed to achieve the following specific objectives:

2.2.1. Regarding knowledge:

The Master's program in Applied Archival Studies helps studentssystematization and updatingThe basic knowledge areas of Archival Studies are as follows:

+ Fundamental knowledge in Archival Studies such as: Organization and management of archival work; Document management systems in agencies and organizations; Archival policies; History of documents; Typical events of Vietnamese history; Theory and practice of administrative procedures; Administrative reform in Vietnam through different historical periods.

+ The body of knowledge in the field of Archival Studies includes: Classification of archival documents; Determining the value of documents; Organizing electronic document archives; Organizing audio-visual document archives; Organizing scientific and technological document archives; Organizing archival document information systems; Archiving specialized documents; Source material research methods; and Publication of documents and records.

+ Supplementary and elective courses designed to meet the diverse career requirements of learners.

2.2.2. Regarding capabilitiesUpon completion of the program, students will achieve the following competencies:

- Master the fundamental principles of archival studies.They are capable of identifying practical problems that need to be researched and solved; from there, they can advise and recommend organizational, management, and policy measures.Regarding the field of archiving for leadership and management levels;

- Havethe ability to organize or directly implement and solve problems that arise.This is relevant in the practical organization and management of archival work in agencies, organizations, and businesses.

2.2.3. Regarding skills:

Students enrolled in the Master's program in Applied Archival Studies will receiveParticular emphasis is placed on equipping individuals with the skills and methods of archival practice.as well as other important supporting skills, specifically as follows:

- Practical skills in managing archival operations and archival documents;

- Skills in planning and managing archive projects;

- Skills in drafting documents related to archiving;

- Skills in publishing documents and materials;

- Skills in digitizing archival documents;

- Leadership and management skills;

- Information synthesis skills;

- Methods for storing electronic documents;

- Methods for archiving scientific and technological documents;

- Methods for storing audiovisual materials;

- Training and instruction methods in archiving;

- Methods for checking and evaluating in archiving.

2.2.4. Regarding moral qualities:

The training program aims to help learners develop and enhance their skills.

The training focuses on ethical qualities and civic responsibility, social ethics such as responsibility towards work and the community, adherence to the law, upholding the truth, and supporting innovation and progress. In addition, trainees are trained to enhance their personal ethics, professional ethics, and service attitude: honesty and seriousness; a constant awareness of protecting national secrets in valuable archival documents; a positive outlook on their profession; proactively promoting the role and importance of archival documents and archival work in society; independence and creativity in their work within permitted limits; and harmonious relationships.
