2.Objectives of the training program

2.1. General Objectives

Based on the selective adoption of fundamental knowledge from anthropological traditions in developed countries, and inheriting the tradition of training and research in Vietnamese ethnology, the research-oriented Master's program in Anthropology aims to train professional anthropologists capable of research and teaching, applying anthropological knowledge and methods to solve scientific and practical problems, and integrating with the international anthropological community.

2.2. Specific objectives:To train professional anthropologists with master's degrees capable of undertaking the following types of work:

• Group 1: Research and teaching staff at research and educational institutions: are professional anthropologists with theoretical knowledge and skills in anthropology, mastering knowledge of fundamental topics in the field, capable of undertaking research and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels on human beings, culture, and human society;
• Nhóm 2:  cán bộ và viên chức làm việc trong các cơ quan đảng và hệ thống chính quyền, các tổ chức đoàn thể, các tổ chức quốc tế và phi chính phủ và các tổ chức chính trị xã hội khác có nhu cầu sử dụng tri thức nhân học và phương pháp nghiên cứu của nhân học, ví dụ như các cơ quan bảo tàng, khu du lịch, khu bảo tồn, thư viện, v.v;
• Nhóm 3: cán bộ tư vấn và thực hành nhân học: có khả năng đảm nhiệm các công việc ứng dụng phục vụ việc hoạch định và triển khai các chính sách xã hội, như nghiên cứu chính sách, đánh giá tác động, đánh giá nhu cầu, nghiên cứu điều tra dân tộc học, làm chuyên gia về phát triển cộng đồng, về phát triển xã hội, đảm nhiệm các công việc quản lí và điều hành chương trình/dự án nghiên cứu hoặc ứng dụng liên quan đến tri thức và phương pháp nghiên cứu của nhân học.​​​​​​​

3. Thông tin tuyển sinh

3.1 Môn thi tuyển sinh

• Xét tuyển đối với người nước ngoài theo quy chế hiện hành;
• Thi tuyển đối với người Việt Nam. Các môn thi tuyển sinh gồm:

+ Môn thi Cơ bản: Các dân tộc và chính sách dân tộc ở Việt Nam

+ Môn thi Cơ sở: Nhân học đại cương

+ Foreign Language: Choose one of five languages: English, Russian, French, German, or Chinese.
