2. Objectives of the training program

2.1. General Objectives

The training program is built on the philosophy that, based on the fundamentals of Vietnamese cultural history, and drawing on the summation of historical and practical experiences in cultural management combined with the application of theories and experiences in cultural management from countries in the region and around the world, the program aims to produce graduates who are not only competent in cultural management but also capable of advising, designing, and developing cultural management policies at the national and local levels.

Based on that training philosophy, the overall goal of the Master's program in Cultural Management is to train and develop high-quality human resources capable of researching, organizing, advising, consulting, and implementing issues in the field of cultural management at both the macro and micro levels.

2.2. Specific Objectives

Upon completion of the Master's program in Cultural Management, students will possess the following abilities:

  • Possess fundamental and in-depth knowledge of cultural management; master the theories and research methods of culture, heritage, and cultural management;
  • Possesses a scientific and professional work methodology; systemic and analytical thinking; the ability to work independently and creatively; effective communication and teamwork skills; and the ability to integrate into an international environment.
  • Possesses the capacity to organize and manage cultural activities; develop cultural management plans and projects; and provide advice and consultation on cultural matters to central and local government agencies.
  • There is the possibility of continuing research and study at the doctoral level.

3. Admission Information

3.1. Admission methods

  • Basic Examination Subject: Fundamentals of Vietnamese Culture;
  • Foundation subject: Vietnamese History;
  • Foreign Language: One of the following five languages: English, Russian, French, German, or Chinese (equivalent to level 3/6 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnamese people).

3.2. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the Master's program in Cultural Management must meet all of the following conditions:

  • He has a clean personal record and is not currently under criminal investigation.
  • Possess a university degree in one of the fields listed in section 3.3 and have completed the supplementary knowledge program listed in section 3.4;
  • Having sufficient health to study;
  • Submit all required documents, certificates, papers, and examination fees in full, correctly, and on time, as stipulated by VNU and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities;
  • Regarding professional work experience:
  • For those with a relevant university degree: no work experience is required;
  • For those with a university degree in a related field: they must have at least one year of work experience in the field of Cultural Management, counting from the date of their university graduation certificate to the date of the exam;
  • For those with a university degree in a different field: they must have at least two years of work experience in the field of Cultural Management, counting from the date of their university graduation to the date of the exam.
