2. Objectives of the training program
2.1. General Objectives
- To provide students with fundamental knowledge and a systematic understanding of Marxist-Leninist ideology, the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh Thought on religion, as a foundation for approaching in-depth specialized issues in the fields of theory, history, and the role of religion;
- This course aims to provide students with a scientific approach to general theoretical issues of religion, while also understanding some typical viewpoints on religion, as well as the current religious situation in the world and in Vietnam. Through this, learners can interpret religious issues in Vietnam from both theoretical and practical perspectives to support research, teaching, religious affairs, and related fields.
2.2. Specific Objectives
- Knowledge objectives: Possesses basic, advanced, and modern knowledge of Eastern, Western, and Vietnamese religions and beliefs;
- Skill objectivesMastering the methodology of dialectical materialism and religious studies in researching and teaching religious and belief-related issues;
- Competency objectives: capable of independent research and participation in research groups; able to grasp and theoretically solve problems posed by religious practice from a philosophical perspective;
- Objectives regarding moral qualitiesPossessing strong character and firm political stance; passionate, diligent, hardworking, eager to learn, and serious about work.
3. Admission Information
3.1. Admission methods
- The entrance exam includes the following subjects:
+ Basic subjects in the exam:Marxist-Leninist Philosophy(Not a philosophy major)
+ Basic Subjects Exam:General Religious Studies
+ Foreign language exam: choose one of five languages: English, Russian, French, German, or Chinese.
3.2. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for the Master's program in Religious Studies must meet all of the following requirements:
- Has a clean personal record and is not currently under criminal investigation;
- Possess a university degree in religious studies or a related field; or possess a regular university degree in a related field that has been supplemented with additional knowledge to achieve a level equivalent to a university degree in religious studies;
- Candidates are allowed to take the exam in the same year they receive their university degree or in the same year they receive their supplementary knowledge certificate.
3.3. List of correct majors,suitable, related industry
- Correct field of study: Religious Studies;
- Suitable fields of study: Philosophy, Scientific Socialism, Political Education;
- List of related fields: Psychology, Sociology, Management Science, Anthropology, History, Political Science, Literature, Vietnamese Studies, Linguistics, Journalism, Tourism Studies, Oriental Studies (domestic and international).
