The university representatives included Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the university; Dr. Pham Hoang Hung - Head of the Cooperation and Development Department; Ms. Pham Cham Anh - Deputy Head of the Scientific Research Management Department; Dr. Pham Van Hue - Deputy Head of the Training Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Cam Lan - Head of the Linguistics Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Director of the Center for Chinese Studies; and Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa - Head of the Chinese Studies Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies.
Representing Yunnan University were Professor Yang Jian - Vice President of the Institute of Chinese Studies - Yunnan Normal University, Associate Professor Hung The Binh - Chairman of the Expert Council for the Chinese-Vietnamese Translation Certification Examination, and Ms. Ha Diem Hong.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, stated that international integration is a strong trend for the university, especially during the post-Covid-19 recovery period, a time when cooperation with international universities is crucial to ensure effective collaboration and mutual benefit. In particular, universities and research institutes in China are important partners for the university in training and scientific research, student and faculty exchange, international publications, and conference organization. Notably, Chinese students and trainees studying at VNU-USSH in various fields, from bachelor's to master's and doctoral programs, are provided with the best possible learning conditions, healthcare, and opportunities for cultural exchange in Vietnam.
Professor Yang Jian, Vice President of the Chinese Language Institute at Yunnan Normal University, shared: Yunnan Normal University is one of the leading universities, large in scale, multidisciplinary, and shares many similarities with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in its training and research orientation. With a long history of cooperation between the two universities, the renewal of the MOU in the near future will lay the groundwork for student and faculty exchanges between the two universities in particular and the two countries in general.
During the meeting, representatives from both institutions exchanged views and reached a consensus on strengthening cooperation, establishing research groups, and co-publishing internationally. In particular, Professor Duong Kien and Professor Hoang Anh Tuan proposed initial cooperation in teaching Chinese-Vietnamese, jointly organizing a Chinese-Vietnamese translation certification exam at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and at Yunnan Normal University, facilitating language exchange and certifying Chinese-Vietnamese language proficiency for candidates in need.

In October 2023, the two universities are expected to jointly organize a scientific conference in Kunming, China, promising to strongly promote the cooperative relationship between the two universities in 2023 and in the years to come.
