The project "Upgrading the wireless network system of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU" was built by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU from 2022 and officially implemented from February 2023. With the expectation of building a synchronous and highly efficient internet network, ensuring operational capacity in a high-density access environment, convenient for system administration, the school has researched and selected the most optimal technology solution from VinaPhone VNPT Hanoi Telecommunications Services Corporation (under the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group). Accordingly, the wireless network system at VNU-USSH is invested synchronously, modernly and scientifically. This system provides high-speed internet connection for users, supporting management activities, training activities, scientific research, operations and other activities. The system was officially put into use from May 26, 2023.
Regarding the Student App Deployment Project: On May 18, 2023, the Center for Communications and Information Technology coordinated with the Center for Digital University Administration (VNU) to officially launch the Student Support and Management App (hereinafter referred to as the VnuStudentApp application), a software designed to run on a mobile platform, suitable for popular operating systems such as IOS and Android. In phase 1, VnuStudentApp includes 10 main functions: (1) Update news about the School's activities; (2) Send new announcements from the School to students; (3) Send and answer questions and comments from students; (4) Register for boarding; (5) Look up the student handbook; (6) Look up digital maps; (7) Update outpatient information; (8) Look up administrative procedures; (9) Update photo albums; (10) Look up instructions for using VnuStudentApp
In the next stages, VnuStudentApp will be regularly updated with new features to improve management and student support capabilities. Head of Administration and General Affairs Nguyen Van Thuy shared more about the results of implementing the E-Office system throughout the school: up to now, all documents have been sent to units on the software. Therefore, heads of units are requested to note that when documents arrive, they need to assign departments to process them immediately to ensure the documents are up to date.
Vice President Lai Quoc Khanh emphasized: the results of the implementation of E-Office software, upgrading the unified wireless network (wifi) system throughout the school, and the App to support and manage students in the past time demonstrate the determination of the Board of Directors as well as the great efforts of related departments. Vice Principal Lai Quoc Khanh speaks at the June school meeting
Head of the Planning and Finance Department, Kim Thi Diep Ha, said that the University's 2022 audit program has ended, and the basic assessment is that it is properly implemented and complies with State regulations. The 6 programs that have received certification have been submitted to VNU for approval of tuition fees according to technical and economic standards. Other training programs, when receiving the Planning and Finance Department's accreditation certificate, will continue to complete their documents to submit to VNU.
Head of Planning and Finance Department Kim Thi Diep Ha noted some key financial work contents in June.
After listening to the opinions exchanged and discussed at the Conference, the Principal concluded and emphasized some key tasks in May:
- Strengthen multi-faceted, in-depth, and closer substantive cooperation with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University: from reference, comparison to work cooperation. In addition to the departments that have done well (university administration) for several years; training units should promote cooperation not only in exchanging students, trainees, lecturers, participating in councils and academic activities but also need to recognize each other's credits. It is necessary to select some majors in some units as points (Faculty of History, Faculty of International Studies) and then expand to the whole school, all majors that the two schools train together.
- Effectively organize the Conference on Building the Key Plan for the 2023-2024 school year on June 21-22, 2023: focal points organize meetings and review key contents in detail and carefully. Unit heads arrange work to ensure the fullest participation.
- Currently, all units have completed the additional planning work. The School Board will meet to approve and deploy the work of the School Council.
- Complete programs according to technical and economic standards to prepare for announcing enrollment plans and tuition fees; continue to promote plans and ensure progress of programs under accreditation in 2023.
- The Training Department coordinates with training units to continue reviewing the number of students preparing to graduate to provide timely support; implement effective summer semester plans (meeting learners' requirements).
- Student care work needs to be more substantial and effective: Innovation and improvement of the quality of training programs is not only about changing the content of the program, but most importantly, innovation in the thinking, expertise, methods, and teaching style of teachers, both creating excitement for learners and supporting students in the most optimal way during the learning and research process. That is the most fundamental factor that determines attracting, retaining students and improving the quality of training. In addition, all other departments: administration, training, politics and student affairs, communications... must also participate more vigorously and effectively.
- Unit heads need to thoroughly educate all staff and lecturers about safety, economical and effective use of electricity and water; ensure synchronous operation of the facilities system (especially during the summer); combine repair and replacement of equipment to prepare for the new school year.
