Caring for, representing, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees
In the 2022-2023 school year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Trade Union has done a good job of grasping the thoughts of union members, promptly exchanging, answering and creating consensus among officials and employees. At the same time, the University's Trade Union has well organized propaganda work, thoroughly grasping the Party's guidelines and resolutions, policies and laws of the State and the industry, and the ideological situation of union members is always stable.
The School Union always receives timely guidance from the VNU Trade Union in its activities. The School Party Committee always pays close attention and directs, the Board of Directors actively coordinates and supports the School Union in all activities for the common goal of ensuring professional activities and stable income for the School staff.
Officials and employees trust the School's trade union organization and always pay great attention and support to activities organized and launched by the union.
Policies and regimes for union members are always guaranteed. The union organizes periodic health check-ups for 434 officials, civil servants and employees, participates in the development of "Internal spending regulations", reviews emulation titles at the end of the school year, participates in the school's salary increase review council; promptly inspects, supervises, proposes and adjusts the full implementation of policies and salary regimes for union officials in the whole school. The number of officials and employees receiving salary increases in 2022 is 160, of which: 109 people receive regular salary increases and 51 people receive early salary increases.
Encourage and facilitate union members to do well in teaching and scientific research, and study to improve their qualifications through organizing seminars, such as the seminar "Promoting the connection between research and international publication among lecturers".
The innovation of teaching methods is still maintained with 114 contracts for innovation of teaching and learning methods being implemented. The number of lectures/textbooks accepted is 23, including 11 lectures and 12 university textbooks. The school organizes many activities to support training in basic sciences through seminars, talks, scholarships, as well as skills training for lecturers and students.
The scientific research and innovation activities of union members are comprehensive, aiming to serve the community, improve the research capacity of staff and students, and publish internationally in depth, aiming at journals with high impact factors. The school's staff has published 15 monographs and textbooks, including 02 monographs published in English; 425 research articles in scientific journals; 64 articles in international scientific journals and book chapters published by prestigious international publishers. Expressing his joy at the achievements of the School's Trade Union, Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, assessed that the School's Trade Union has truly cared for, protected the rights and interests, created opportunities for professional development for each union member, and is also a bright spot in caring for the cultural, artistic and sports life of the entire school's union members. With the strength of gathering union members who are highly qualified scientists and teachers, the trade union has actively contributed to the school's achievements in recent times. The School's Trade Union has 515 union members operating in 22 departmental unions, including 07 Professors, 59 Associate Professors, 208 Doctors, and 162 Masters. Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh believes that, with the long tradition, experience in activities, and especially the love and enthusiasm of the Union Executive Committee and all the members, the union activities will achieve many new achievements, and the strong development of the Union organization will contribute to the sustainable development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Representing the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, comrade Nguyen Thi Hoang Lien - Member of the Executive Committee of the Trade Union congratulated the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on its achievements in the past school year. With the core role of the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has promoted its role and made great contributions to many activities of the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Comrade Nguyen Thi Hoang Lien shared that the VNU-USSH Trade Union with outstanding factors in trade union activities, with the close attention and facilitation of the University Board of Directors and the leadership of the faculties/institutes, has implemented many activities effectively and with quality, bringing many values ​​to the trade union members.
The representative of the Trade Union of the National University of Hanoi also proposed a number of tasks to the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in actively and effectively coordinating with the government to carry out the teaching and training support tasks of VNU-USSH in particular and VNU in general; focusing the highest intelligence to build a comprehensive action plan for trade union activities in the new school year. Comrade Nguyen Thi Hoang Lien believes that in the new school year, the Trade Union of VNU-USSH will promote the role of a large trade union organization in VNU (number, scale, organizational structure, diversity in movement organization, rich tradition...) and will proactively and creatively contribute to the activities of the National University of Hanoi.
Innovating union activities to bring practical benefits to fans
In her speech at the conference, Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Trade Union emphasized: this year is the first year of the University Trade Union Term, 2023-2028, the University Trade Union hopes that the activities of the Trade Union, in addition to implementing the plan of the higher-level trade union, must also closely follow the plan of the University, accompanying the University to successfully implement the targets and tasks, so the activities need to go into depth; must be organized and implemented professionally and effectively. To do so, the human factor is important, with the policy that all trade union officials from the unit to the University participate in professional committees; members of the Executive Committee will participate as heads of committees; on the basis of the professional committees established in the 2017-2023 term, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union has adjusted and established 6 specialized professional committees to serve as the basis for effectively implementing tasks. To take advantage of the strengths and best promote the strengths of union members in the School, the Union Executive Committee has invited union members with the capacity suitable for the tasks of each committee, who are experienced in expertise and profession to participate in the specialized committees to create a combined strength in building movements and collective activities. Accordingly, 6 specialized committees will cover the activities of the Union, including: Organization - Competition Committee; Professional Committee; Lifestyle Committee; Cultural and Sports Committee; Women's Committee; Propaganda, legal policy and communication committee.
  In the context of the Executive Committee and key positions having to be reduced in number but still wanting the quality of the Union's activities to be ensured; the care for union members must be increasingly thoughtful, in the 2023-2028 term in general and the 2023-2024 school year in particular, the Executive Committee has assigned comrades who are members of the Executive Committee to be directly in charge of units in the whole school and groups in charge of funeral and wedding work so that union officials can support and accompany each other in carrying out this work. This assignment is so that each comrade in the Executive Committee can be closer to the departmental unions, promptly receiving opinions from the departmental unions. This task requires union officials to operate more professionally and actively. Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh emphasized that the innovation of the union's working methods is associated with the expectation that the departmental unions will actively, effectively and practically implement specialized activities of the union organization... based on the strengths of the grassroots unions and union members. From there, each union member will be an "ambassador" contributing to spreading the image and brand of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU to learners, partners and society.
Discussing at the Conference, Comrade Mai K Da - Executive Committee of the Faculty of Philosophy Union proposed the idea of ​​building programs to connect young union members with retired union members. This is an activity to help young union members learn, receive professional support as well as experience from retired teachers, promote important resources and connect generations of cadres and lecturers in the school. The conference received high consensus from the entire school's union members on the Summary Report of Union Activities for the 2022-2023 school year and the implementation of the 2023-2024 school year activity plan. The union also awarded certificates of merit to 11 groups and 112 individuals with outstanding achievements in union activities at VNU and school levels.               The 2022-2023 school year has ended with many proud achievements of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. With the plan and goals set for the 2023-2024 school year, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU expects to achieve many new results so that the Trade Union can truly become a trustworthy organization for workers; perform well the role of caring for, representing, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees; and be a bridge in all activities of the University.
