According to information from the organizing committee, VNUR was born after more than 2 years of research group working within the framework of a non-profit organization. This is the first ranking of Vietnamese universities published in Vietnam.
The 2023 rankings reviewed all 237 Vietnamese higher education institutions through big data processing. A total of 191 schools had sufficient data to conduct the rankings.
In the first announcement, the 10 universities with the highest evaluation scores are:
Hanoi National University (100 points)
Ho Chi Minh City National University (95 points)
Ton Duc Thang University (89.8 points)
Hanoi University of Science and Technology (86.9 points)
Duy Tan University (79.7 points)
Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (70.3 points)
Can Tho University (69.2 points)
Hanoi National University of Education (68.2 points)
Danang University (67.9 points)
Hue University (67.5 points)
VNUR evaluates on a total score of 100, divided into 6 standards and 17 important criteria, ensuring the most comprehensive and balanced comparison.
Six criteria used for ranking with specific weights include: Recognized quality (30%), teaching (25%), scientific publication (20%), scientific and technological tasks and inventions (10%), learner quality (10%), facilities (5%).
Standards and evaluation criteria of VNUR ranking
VNUR believes that the rankings will help high school students have friendly, easy-to-understand and reliable information about universities in Vietnam. The biggest advantage of the university rankings is that they meet the great demand for information from students, parents and the public.
The purpose of VNUR is to guide students and parents at home and abroad to choose the right university in Vietnam to study. This is also an evaluation tool that businesses and universities at home and abroad can use to choose a specific university to associate and cooperate with.
With an absolute score (100 points) according to VNUR 2023 assessment, VNU held the number 1 position in the rankings.
In the 2023 ranking, VNU's position in THE Ranking, social sciences field is in the top 601-800.
