This year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, has set the minimum admission score at 18-19 points.

The cut-off scores for majors that consider foreign language scores may increase slightly.

In an interview with Lao Dong newspaper, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan commented:university entrance exam scoresThis year will generally be as stable as 2020.

Based on the distribution of scores in the 2021 high school graduation exam, it can be seen that the average scores for each subject are not significantly different from 2020. Only the average score for English is slightly higher, and the average score for History is slightly lower than last year. Overall, the score distribution shows insignificant changes compared to 2020.

According to Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, university admission scores are usually based on criteria such as the enrollment quotas of the universities, high school graduation exam scores, and the number of applicants.

For the SchoolUniversity of Social Sciences and Humanities- According to Professor Hoang Anh Tuan of Hanoi National University, this year the university has 1650 enrollment slots for 31 training programs, which is not significantly different from last year. The number of candidates registering for their first, second, and third choices is also basically the same as in previous years.

In addition, the school has also completed the direct admission process for students from specialized high schools, national award winners, and those with international certificates. The number of confirmed enrollments up to this point is only slightly higher than last year, not significantly larger.

"Up to this point, the school's admission quotas for preferences, direct admission quotas, and quotas based on 2021 high school exam scores remain unchanged compared to last year. In the next few days, students can adjust their preferences; however, based on my experience, adjusting preferences after knowing the high school exam scores won't cause too many drastic changes."

Based on that data, the school predicts that the cut-off scores for some majors may increase, but only slightly, and will be concentrated in majors that consider the D01 and D78 admission combinations. Some majors in the C group will not see a sudden increase; some may not increase at all and will remain stable like in 2020.

"The school only relies on data regarding quotas and exam scores of candidates to make predictions, so it's not yet certain about the cutoff score. It also depends heavily on how students adjust their preferences in the coming time," Professor Hoang Anh Tuan commented.

Does the Korean Studies program still have a 30/30 admission score?

In 2020, the Korean Studies program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was among the top programs with a record-high admission score of 30/30 points.

According to Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, the reason why the Korean Studies major has such high admission scores is because 2020 was the first year that the Korean Studies major independently recruited students with a relatively small number of places, including many students who were admitted directly.

"The cutoff score for Korean Studies this year is quite difficult to predict. However, the regulations for considering high school graduation exam scores state that candidates can choose multiple preferences; if they are accepted into their first choice, they stop there, otherwise, they will continue to screen for subsequent preferences."

Therefore, during the upcoming period for adjusting preferences, candidates can adjust and increase their number of preferences," Professor Hoang Anh Tuan shared.

The Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, advises candidates to choose a major they love, one that suits their interests, passions, and abilities.

In addition, consider adding lower-priority choices as a backup to increase your chances of admission. Furthermore, you can refer to the 2020 admission scores, as the admission scores for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi have been relatively stable in recent years.
