Attending the ceremony along with the teachers and students of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc (Head of Training Department, Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Former Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Thach (Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); and parents from the Parent-Teacher Association of each class.
This special opening ceremony for the school's teachers and students was held using a combination of two formats: in-person at the studio and via online application. Despite being held under unprecedented circumstances, without the possibility of attending school in person, students of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities were still able to listen to the President's letter, speeches from their teachers, the resounding sound of the opening drum, and cultural performances by the school's teachers and students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc affirmed the position of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities on the educational map of the Capital, acknowledged the efforts of teachers and students in the 2020-2021 school year, and expressed hope that in the coming school year, the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to successfully fulfill its set objectives.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan pointed out three key phrases: tradition – modernity, integration – trends: continuing the glorious tradition of over 75 years of the Faculty of Literature, while simultaneously embracing the modernity of the world to absorb and integrate with global educational trends. Together with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Specialized High School will continue to be a pillar in training students with ethical and humanistic values.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu delivered a speech at the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu congratulated the 144 students of the second cohort who had overcome many difficulties and challenges, successfully completed the entrance exam, and become students of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities. In particular, he advised all students of the school to "adapt to develop, be independent to mature," especially in the context of the complex global situation due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.
Student Tran Phuong Linh gave a speech at the ceremony.
Having the honor of representing nearly 300 students at the opening ceremony, student Tran Phuong Linh, from the K1 Literature Specialized Class, expressed her pride in studying and training at a school with a rich tradition, a team of enthusiastic and talented teachers, and a comprehensive training program. On behalf of all students, she thanked the teachers and departments of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for their care and support in providing students with facilities and abundant learning resources, creating the best opportunities for students to experience and participate in international research programs. She also pledged to strive to improve her academic performance and achieve the goals set by the University and herself in the new academic year, continuing the proud tradition of the Faculty of Literature.

Also at the ceremony, the school announced the commendation decisions from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities for 11 students from the first cohort who achieved excellent results in their studies and training, 5 students from the second cohort who achieved the title of top-scoring entrance exam scorer, and 147 students from the first cohort who achieved the title of excellent student in the 2020-2021 school year. This will be a great encouragement for teachers and students to continuously strive in the next school year.
Hopefully, in the upcoming and special academic year 2021-2022, the teachers and students of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to strive in their studies and training, overcome all challenges, and continue the tradition of the Faculty of Literature, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to achieve new progress and victories, contributing to building the position of the specialized high school within a heroic university.
